I want to know how to get it back. I have always admired Jesus but I have my doubts about whether he is the right path to regaining my soul. He seems quite effeminate. I don't know if this is true, but I'm sure I read somewhere that when St. Paul presented the image of Christ on the cross to the Greeks they simply laughed at it. I just don't know what to think anymore.

There is no evidence that any of us ever had a "soul." That is likely a mental construct of religions and clerics claiming "Death is not final because some part of you goes on (or comes back in another body or form)" and "Do as I say and you will be rewarded after you die."

What you seem to have actually "lost" is acceptance of a certain religion's beliefs, claims and stories. Whether that constitutes a "loss" is debatable. There are many alternatives in life-view, philosophy, morals, ethics, values. Although religious organizations and individuals tend to claim they have "the one true path", that is not at all true. And, "salvation" (after you die) cannot be shown to be anything more than creative imagination and wishful thinking.

Some of us did not "lose" a religious belief because it did not exist (and/or the attempts at indoctrination were unsuccessful). Others started along religious pathways but discovered that they "could not believe what they did not believe" (i.e, can't make myself believe what seems irrational or unbelievable).

Perhaps rather than "getting back" a belief or "soul" it would be advisable to find new pathways to fulfillment.

You appear to be profoundly confused. Rather than subject yourself to this type of forum, perhaps you should approach someone you know and trust and ask the same question. Just being "down" doesn't mean anything about a soul. Bumps in life happen to everyone. Learning how to live and learn is part of growing up.

They have cut man in two, setting one half against the other. They have taught him that his body and his consciousness are two enemies engaged in deadly conflict, two antagonists of opposite natures, contradictory claims, incompatible needs, that to benefit one is to injure the other, that his soul belongs to a supernatural realm, but his body is an evil prison holding it in bondage to this earth and that the good is to defeat his body, to undermine it by years of patient struggle, digging his way to that glorious jail-break which leads into the freedom of the grave.

They have taught man that he is a hopeless misfit made of two elements, both symbols of death. A body without a soul is a corpse, a soul without a body is a ghost,yet such is their image of man's nature: the battleground of a struggle between a corpse and a ghost, a corpse endowed with some evil volition of its own and a ghost endowed with the knowledge that everything known to man is non-existent, that only the unknowable exists.

Do you observe what human faculty that doctrine was designed to ignore? It was man's mind that had to be negated in order to make him fall apart. Once he surrendered reason, he was left at the mercy of two monsters whom he could not fathom or control: of a body moved by unaccountable instincts and of a soul moved by mystic revelations he was left as the passively ravaged victim of a battle between a robot and a dictaphone.

If your soul is what u see as a spirit that will live on. Then go to your souls instruction Manual. Dust off your Bible and start reading with a pure Heart Desiring a life that Yahweh said we should live. Everyday you soul will grow stronger and u won't even remember u ever thought u lost it. Behind the couch cushions is as likely a place as any other to look for an invisible, undetectable "soul" that cannot be shown to be anything more than the product of human imagination and wishful thinking.

If some supernatural realm does exist and if some aspect of a human enters that realm, it is well beyond present human comprehension and NO ONE possesses any valid, verifiable information. Opinions, testimonials, conjectures, tales, folklore, fiction, etc allude to an "afterlife" and many claim special knowledge. However, none of the above can be shown (with verifiable information) to be truthful and accurate.

That which cannot be verified by interested parties is conjecture. Claims of special knowledge are "blowing smoke" unless they can be demonstrated to be true.

Boy, you are a soul. Your body is how your soul moves around in this world.

If you want to know the truth, start praying with an open heart. Pray every day for 30 days, asking God to reveal himself to you. And while you are at it, start reading the New Testament.

Why should you care what the Greeks thought? And what do you mean Jesus was effeminate? He was the most manly man ever. He had the power to kill anyone who wished him harm, he had the power to heal himself, but he chose to die for our sins. That take cajones like you can't even imagine.
