LOL, I think it depends where you are and how well you know your friends. I'm from a big city and you try that with friends that are not your best friends they will most likely will think your odd.. I like the other response but I hope you know not all of canada gets cold. Vancouver & Victoria are the warmest, lowest I've seen it here was -8, i'm orginaly from a -40 weather country so this is nothing!

I've been to almost every province in Canada and have never seen friends kiss on the lips, not sure where you heard that. I'm from Quebec, here unlike other provinces you will get a kiss on each cheek.

I'm from Quebec too and I've seen MANY "friends" kiss each other on the lips in greeting.. mostly the younger generation though.. the older generation does the double cheek kiss akin to some European countries
