My greatest fun as a little girl? Dancing with my grandpa. I'd put my
feet on top of his and we'd hold hands. He'd dance me around in circles
in the living room while he sang some silly song. We'd laugh and laugh.
Sometimes when things get hard I wish I was little like that
again...small enough to be carried into the house asleep on grandpa's
shoulder, small enough to wear his t-shirts to bed and small enough to
wrapped up in the safety of his strong arms...

Playing ball hockey in the street. And throwing snowballs at every
single car, including the cops, that dared to pass by and interrupt our
game.

Only think I liked about the north(peoria IL) where I used to live was
the dirt bike trails we rode our bikes on and the snow. Our snow hill
was large and fairly steep. We would pile the snow up and make a ramp to
jump the creek so that we could slide on the long flat on the other side
of the creek instead of ditching the sled before taking a bath in the
creek. I will never forget one early day in spring the snow was melt and
we went for a final sledding trip. The ramp gave way as I hit it and I
landed in the creek. I about froze to death before reaching my best
friends house. I am sure I would not have made it home as I was already
turned blue just getting to his house.

Hello everyone, I am back from my short vacation, went to go see my
grandchildren and had a ball, made me think of my childhood and all my
cousins, aunts and uncles, who came to visit on a regular basis or on
sundays we used to go to other relatives homes for sunday dinner and
play time. Life was never dull. I hated summer tho, it was a time of
canning food, such as tomatoes, green beans, corn, peas and etc. I
recall my dad going to a farm and buying chickens, they would bring them
back in cages and one evening my dad would have this HUGE pot of boiling
water outside, he would take a chicken chop his head off, and let me
tell u they still RUN AROUND without heads and then DUNK them in the pot
for a few minutes and then we would have to PLUCK the feathers
off........and then my mom would freeze them for
winter........YUK........the best times as a child was making
cookies........my mom would bake and bake cookies.......then freeze most
of the ones left over that me and my brother didnt snitch...(smiling)
but down the road we had an orchard........there they made the carmeled
apples.I used to love going there and watching the women make the
carmel......if i stood there long enough, they used to give me a great
big chunck of carmel.........I WAS IN HEAVEN.....FORGET THE APPLE .....I
just wanted the GOOD STUFFF!
Life as a kid back in my day, wasnot always play time, we did work and
help out our families alot.. just as if we were on a farm....we had to
prepare for winter. I even detassled corn..and walked bean fields as a
kid. I was very tall so I fit in, and afterwards, The farm where we
walked would hose us all off and then when we got back home, we would
all jump in our swimming suits and go to the local pool for awhile then
back home and to bed we would go untill the dawn came and back up we
went to the fields.................WORK WORK WORK!
Sooooooooo there u have it........
Now how are all of you?? what have u all been doing since my
departure?? I sure have missed u all and think of you all often as the
miles drifted by.........

HUGGSSSSSSSSS MY DEAR FREINDS!!!!!!

I remember when my friend Al and I would pretend we were Ninjas and had
ALL the gear!! The most our parents would let us get back then were the
suits and tabi boots but, we had to make our own weapons.....which was
still fun as hell because I think from our imagination, we made MORE
dangerous weapons out of stuff around the house than were sold in
magazines and stores. Now, I actually have the REAL weapons for
collection. Hand spikes, swords, stars, sais, nunchaku, throwing spikes
and so on.....LOL!! It's kind of fun when you grow up!! LOL!!
