3. I'm currently considering the idea that perhaps this is a sign of personal instability or poor decision making on my part. Anyway, this time around I will not let my evil sister onto my friends list and will focus on avoiding chronic facebook posters as friends. I don't need people spilling my life onto their pages.

obviously.. many don't understand the full scope how facebook is invading your daily lives..

I strongly suggest watching the video facebook

my kids originally dragged me onto the site.. then when they changed the 'terms of service' a few years back AND everyone had to go to the new TIMELINE.. I knew it was time to DELETE! don't know bout anyone ELSE but.. I cherish my privacy AND free will!

I've never deleted my Facebook account. I only blocked one person there who was a major snitch.

I deleted my one-and-only FB account over 5 years ago.

Back when I'd created it (7 years ago?), it was THE place for workplace networking. Years later, while employed in a very SMALL industry, I was head-hunted by a competitor. I went to the interview to hear what they had to offer and filled out their application. On it, I answered "no" to "May we contact your current employer?" and, while providing my job title and duties, deliberately left the company name blank. They already knew I worked in the industry; that's why they were interested in me.

Two days after my interview, the Vice-President of the company (my boss' boss) called me into her office to inform me the person I'd interviewed with had contacted her about me. Seems she'd researched my FB page, and knew EXACTLY the company I worked for...and so contacted them directly.

The VP informed me I would NEVER be accepting employment with ANY other company in my industry as long as I was employed by them.

Who says slavery's been abolished in America?

Yeah...no more Facebook accounts for me. I prefer to come and go as I please...as my then-employer found out, shortly thereafter.

If I were still in the work force, I probably would not have a Facebook account. It's too easy for potential employers to find out things that they don't need to know.

I try not to post anything really personal there.

Me either,I keep mine private,,but keep in touch with people I've known for years
Never mix online with rl accounts...
Unless you are dating and it's serious...
Even then you should respect privacy

Never was a part of Facebook, and glad I never was. Have seen too many friends and acquaintances marriages or relationships end because of Facebook.
Always knew there was something evil about it.devil

Now now ... easier access to bad decisions does not negate the fact that a decision was made
