I read in my local paper where the Police department of my town ( pop, 43,000). Has 2 grenade launchers?????. Given to them from the Government from surplus military gear after 9-11. My town is a quiet bedroom community town. with normal small town crimes... nothing that would warrant firing grenades into house. We have a drug problem, but nothing unlike any town of our size. While executing a search warrant our local police dress up like Nijia's ( black head to toe, faces covered) and all of them bull rush the house. Breaking down doors and windows.

I am a law abiding citizen and all for getting drug off the street, but What I have seen the last 10 years is Local Police departments becoming militarized and to some extent being out of control. And now the government says to them " knock it off with the rough stuff" but meanwhile , they were the ones that gave them the toys and said " go play"
P.S. the black Ninja suits are really over the top.. we all know who is under the masks.. they are the cop who lives down the street or around the corner.. I have no idea who they are hiding from or do they just wear them because they think they look cool

Why is the President giving his opinion on the shooting in a Ferguson. Isn't there a grand jury hearing it now. He is wrong to condemn either party at this time. No wonder the country is divided.

Maybe he wants another Beer-Summit?spock

mistrust of law enforcement is the topic

it IS as much a problem in a community as domestic abuse is in a family,,, and neither pointing out mistrust or abuse is something that 'condemns' anyone but just discusses a real problem in many communities (or homes)

to point it out is QUITE different than to cause it too,,,,

blaming those who speak about problems of being the ones who cause 'division' seems illogical too,

may as well blame the media for reporting on it,, as he was speaking to specific people in a specific place

he isn't speaking only about Ferguson,

he is speaking at an ANNUAL conference with the BLACK caucus and touching on one(of what I suspect was several) topics that impact communities INCLUDING , black communities

the police don't just work in Ferguson, and they are a central part of communities,, so the trust that they build in those communities is an important topic to touch on,,,,

no, its just like saying one man in America did not cause, initiate, nor will be able to END the violence happening in Mexico(parts of,, in no means the whole country)

So just let them have their fun in other words because there will always be someone else to blame it on

Typical liberal logic

Heaven forbid we ever elect or appoint anyone with ethics or morals into leadership

no, the whole point is there is no SOMEONE TO BLAME

violence is a societal problem which is complex based upon the society,, its not something that lies on the shoulders of any ONE PERSON

especially not a person who is not even a part of the society in question,,,,

we don't know if violence has risen unnaturally because of certain policy or if certain policy has actually slowed down a NATURAL increase that was happening

and its much more COMPLEX than finding an INDIVIDUAL to scapgoat
