Mingle2 would be out of business. Talk about opposition to that inventive theory.

I don't know,,,, simulators may reach a technological stage that gives the exact same feelings by causing the same physiological sensations,,,

If, for whatever reason, gender no longer existed... and we were to sidestep the biological and physiological elements of this (like... hormones), well...

Firstly, there would either be an apocalypse because people couldn't have sex, or, as you posited, there would be some sort of new social order that we, fitting into the current social order, would find maddeningly different from what we are accustomed to.

Realistically, the acquisition of wealth and land and power would become less valuable over time and the population would drop dramatically, all of which feeds into itself.

Expectations determine giant portions of our collective reality, so just as you'd have no idea what to do with a yacht because you never thought you'd be rich enough to have one, in a social order ruled by inherited wealth, people having kids would have no idea how to raise them necessarily, having never planned to do so.

This is actually an interesting hypothetical. There was a really good movie called "Children of Men" that illustrated how Dystopian the world would become if all women started being born infertile - the idea being that within the parameters of a society that understands its ephemeral nature entirely while being resolutely incapable of completing what is considered the 'biological imperative' of continuing the species, humanity would, scientifically speaking, go utterly apesh~t.

Hi Plastic, IMO the book the movie was based on was better...also there is a book (series I think) based on a future world where no one ages & reproduction is almost outlawed (b/c if no one gets old & dies the population could get to "soylent green" levels very quickly) & as time went on even the idea of "reproduction" became something considered disgusting (like drug dealing etc) & there were "detectives/police" assigned to arrest/eliminate women who had children & stopped taking the life span prolonging drug AND eliminate the children as well...scary stuff. The story excerpt I read ended with the officer sitting across from the woman he had tracked down not being able to decide if he was going to eliminate her or not b/c he actually found her attractive & having lived 100+ years he hadn't felt that kind of "primal" feeling in a looooong time LOL!

I imagine the changes would be evolutionary in nature (so to speak) so not so maddening to those involved who had evolved. to skip forward and exist thusly before being evolved to do so might be indeed maddening.

Imagine waking up and finding that no one else has genitals?

,, its coming , just like I said

since we can't KNOW a persons gender without getting in their pants,, it will one day be a big type of discrimination/bigotry to even aknowledge gender difference in language,, only humans with names we choose with no gender association

'what does gender matter, we are all just human'

all marriage is equal, all gender is equal,,,,,,all the differences will be guilted away,,,,,

,,,,,,its coming,,
