Having read your profile I think you are probably talking about what you are looking for and you clearly state you don't want to get into a serious relationship. You only after an intimate encounter.
If I am correct then the main reason you might feel us men don't read your profile is because of the nature of man itself. Men in general have great big egos and specially the ones you choose to talk to or date would even have bigger egos. It's hard for them to accept your words literally. Deep down all the chosen ones would probably believe they are one up on the rest of the guys here and therefore they posses the power for you to want to get into a relationship with them (even if they are not in it for a relationship themselves). They need to believe this to affirm themselves . That's all. |

I just read your profile. I get it when you mentioned only contact you if one lives in your area...Quebec. I feel the same way too. I now see why you were upset.

My personal view is to read the profiles, BUT I have seen a lot of ladies that post a picture and add nothing in their profile, is the honest truth. So after a while you stop reading which is not the correct way, maybe you are caught up on circumstances.

I have to say that after 8 messages in a row that ask the mundane questions that are clearly answered in one's profile....I am very frustrated

I dunno. YouMeforOne's gripe is valid, and there are some great replies to her gripe. I really don't care for long distance correspondence either, and no profile pic is a concern to me. My ex-wife frequents dating sites, and chooses not to put her pic on her profile. She is a pretty lady with an English accent. Most guys probably think that there must be a problem with her looks or something (for her not to include a pic), but after she feels that she has a connection with someone, she will send them a pic. I bring this up because my exey's approach is completely different than YouMeforOne in that she doesn't just put a pic up, basically conveying that she is beautiful, and that's all anyone needs to know. I guess what I'm saying is that there is virtually no substance to the profile - only a pic. Even if I were living in Montreal (with a pic on my profile), I wouldn't respond to her profile. There is just no substance to it. I would think that anyone who did respond to her "pic" would be quite shallow, and why would a shallow person care about the content within the profile anyway? Hence, they don't bother going through the content within. Hmmm.... Nuff said. A picture is worth a thousand words. A video, even better.  You are so right, love, and I hesitate to expand on that. I'm sick and tired of men not reading my profile before they contact me. I only have a couple of requirements but they are 90% of the time ignored. Dear men, it's not so hard so why do the majority of you not read it?! |
