My masculinity prevents me from reading the OP statement in it's entirety.

We get it already....frustrated

Women, whether rightfully so, or stemming from jealousy, do not like, approve of, appreciate, find attractive, or otherwise endorse every quality or attribute of "maleness"...and likewise, men, whether blah, blah, blah, every quality or attribute of "femininity".

Can we stop bashing each other and just hug it out?

You didn't read my first post, or MY subsequent post, maybe not the thread. Then you would of known, I did NOT make a man-bashing thread, * I don't do that *
I do NOT agree with the links/ data.

I made the thread, to let people know. this is the CRAP that is out there & being shoved down the throats of the younger generations.

Whoa there! No need to get defensive. We're on the same side here.

I said I couldn't read the OP statement as it was quickly apparent that it was an attempt to emasculate and "bash" men for being prone to inherent and innate physiological and psychological traits.

I made no reference to you as an individual, only to the article you posted.

And you are correct, I didn't view either of the other posts you mentioned - I read what I want!

Ready for a hug now?

But men taking away or being responsible for a woman's femininity is just insanity to me.

IMO it's not all that insane.

People get their cues on how to behave, how they are expected or supposed to behave, which behavior will be validated, from others.

People get attacked, people have heart attacks, little kids stand divided by gender in the auditorium, and many times the majority won't do anything until one person goes out and does something.

It's not insane to hold men and women responsible to, and for, each other for how they interact, or for which role traits are reinforced.

Other than that, the article from the OP (the roosh neomasculinity definition) seems to be no different than any forum opinion post.

It's just one guys opinion, and a lot of it reads like a PUA manifesto that attempts to justify his own behavior and stereotypes.

Took that...., my post.. out of context rofl
Or TOO LITERAL & TOO SERIOUS.

My point - Neither women or men NEED the other sex, to FEEL or BE masculine or feminine.

We either are & know it, or not.
One does not make or break the other.
If we are lucky.... they enhance each other.

I was referring the part where it says 'Neo masculinity: The Male Backlash Against Toxic Women'. Real masculinity is not a backlash against women.

I agree with Estelle79 about this issue.

They aren't writing about "real" masculinity, they are talking about some garbage "Neo" or "NEW" version of masculinity they are attempting to invent to drive a deeper wedge between genders.

Here's the masculine way to lash out at toxic women - say "NO" and mean it.

No, I ain't paying your electric bill.

No, I won't chase you around.

No, I won't take you back.

No, I won't have sex with you.

Any feller that succumbs to "feminine wiles" to allow himself to be taken advantage of has it coming and only himself to blame.

You know when someone is up to no good, but you let a little hubba hubba override good judgement. Not very masculine.

I'm curious if anyone actually finished reading the article, why I disagree with many of the points it does provide an interesting perspective.

1. men and women ARE different genetically, therefore TRUE equality will probably never exist. .... (co-ed boxing anyone?)

2. The current path to achieving equality seems to be empowering women, and suppressing men/male qualities
I.e society doesn't have a problem with saying to your daughter "grow up to be a strong powerful women, that way you don't need a man" but instead of saying to young boys "grow up to be a string powerful man" the message is more "grow up, and be nice to women and care for them"

I like to read opinions from all sides and at least try to see it fron someone elses point of view whether if I agree or disagree

Yes, I wrote this on another thread. Men are emasculated in Western society. Stinks for the men, works great for me.

I wouldn't say emasculated per se, because i believe that every individual(whether man/woman) is ultimately responsible for themselves and i think we all have the ability to to either allow circumstances/surroundings to define who we are, or we can define ourselves, the latter i believe is much more difficult but still possible.

But if you look through history, the men/woman that stood out and changed things where those who defined themselves outside of the societal-norm. I sometimes wonder how often the Wright Brother got to to give up and that they were crazy, stupid, etc...by their neighbors and those close to them.

I think blindly following ANY society, Westernized, Eastern, or Patriarchal is a mistake and should be questioned by individuals who can and should think for themselves but that's my opinion

I don't know about all that. It sounds like a man pretending to be a woman and we all know that never works out very well.

A man should say no to unreasonable things, such as no I will not cheat on you, no, I will not abuse you financially or mentally or any other way, no I will not put up with abuse either...take it or leave it...something like that. It's not about getting back at women 'toxic or not', it's about being a leader and a fair one.

Ha ha. "Neo" Masculinity? I knew it was just some emo-sounding hogwash. All I keep thinking is how male's and female's, will just feel more and more divided from each other, when there's another forum topic, about one of the sexes.
