Hey guys,
I don't know if you noticed but Mingle2 app is filled with hundreds if not thousands of fake Nigerian accounts of pretty (usually white women) created by nigerians and ghanaians. They would all like you, they would all match, but when you start talking to them you realize that all of them all non american, even if they tell that they were born in the States. Misspelled words and basic grammatical errors, uncapitalized names, give them away instantly.If their profile description says something like "god fearing women or men" that is a clear fake sign. Don't believe me? - try it yourself! Their english is shitty, all of them live with their sick moms or cousins that need financial assistance.They would even text you on your phone from a US phone #.They lack simple geography lessons of the United States. They don't know anything about the cities they are supposedly living in. Then they would tell you to use Yahoo messenger for chatting.This messenger is like 15 years old if not older,nobody uses it anymore in US. Please take a close look at the people that you talking to their accounts on here.Be very very careful and don't send them any money. Ask them to send you a photo of them with their nickname written on the piece of paper.It's not hard.Or ask them to take a photo in front of their house if they do live in US.Test them !! Its really not safe for people from US to talk to them. Since these guys are trying to get money from all honest users. ohh well I met few of them already here..they are very good actors! They will use sweet and romantic words to let you fall in love to them. And they will use valid reasons why they cant use webcam to see each other. The most recent I met was a man portraying he and his team sailing on a ship and certain pirates hijacked them.So hilarious!
I learned my lesson, after that,I dont entertain any man who dont want to chat on skype or viber. IF there's nothing to hide he or she will find a way to see you thru cam. Let us all be vigilant and smart! They are vampires ready to sip our blood... |

You have your experiences, which nobody can contend with you about. But this almost sounds like you are placing a label of condemnation on every Nigerian. I state here that not all Nigerians are bad. There are also very good Nigerians! Your labeling is as good as calling every white skinned person a racist - that would not be true! All the best. |

I do not care who they are!
This has nothing to do with race! Why does it always has to do with race?? If those would be Irish or Germans doing this I would be outraged the same way. Why does it matter which color? Criminals are criminals does not matter who or where they are from. Oh and by the way. Nigeria has the worst reputation for scams in Africa and in the world. I did not invent this.Also, would be absolutely thrilled if all Nigerians would be awesome guys that were known for something else. Something nice. There are also American con artists but does it sound like I put labels on all Americans? Kenyans are the world's fastest runners for example. |

We are really sorry that you are running into this issue. The Site has a Report/Abuse System in place that all members are required to use to report such issue.
If you do not know how to report you can use the e-mail they sent you look to the bottom right click on Report/Abuse/Spam and follow the directions. These reports go straight to Admin. Mods do not handle Scammers only Admin does. Another way you can report them is on their profile to the right you will see Report This User click on that and follow the instructions. We rely on members to help us by reporting them. Many do slip by us and we need members to help by reporting. We ask that the Forums not to be used for this problem due to we have a Report System which is noted in the Forum Rules. With that said this thread is being locked.
