Well I think only real men who know what they want actually read... try to see the good side... scammers and nasty ones always give clues

Well that is what I keep asking myself as it takes ages to go through every possible profile of a suitable candidate only to find they live on the other side of the planet lol.

On average twice a month I'll receive a message or just a "hi" from a woman. I click on her profile (usually within 24 hours) only to find out it's been deactivated or deleted. Somewhat odd.

I definitely read profiles.
I want to get to know someone a little first before deciding if I want to message them or not!

Half the profiles i find when looking are 'I'll tell you later'. So I'm not sure if there's anything at all to read...

Although there are a few, there's only a handful that might even reply.

Not sure why guys are always asking where I am from. It is clearly displayed in my profile. When ask them if they looked at my profile they say they have but weren't sure if the location I have listed is right slaphead

how to find a serious date?

I'll tell you later .. laugh laugh

Well I'd suggest to create a good profile for starters .. as you have nothing which might resemble one, just I'll tell you later and no answer ..
Hope OP's question has been answered with this .. biggrin

I think if we wrote a comical or naughty profile they'd read it

I think they kind of do but the problem I'm running into is what part of "No" don't they understand. On my "About" part of my profile I list things like No I Will Not Call, Text or Join A Viideo Chat with you and No, I Will Not Come To Meet You or You Come To Meet Me. I've told some that I will not make promises that I can't keep because if you do then it can be held against you and thus I don't. So listen up guys "No" means "No"!

One time I got a mail that said "Hi, I read your profile, sounds nice, I'd like to get to know you better to see if we are truly a match blah-blah-blah. Where are you from?" slaphead

It is very easy to identify a scammer through their first to 3rd chat. I'm new here though... they will start by sending you a line of chat that will get you talking to them, the next will be introduction with as a soldier or a banker trying to tell you how they became widowed and finally, request for your e-mail address.

It doesn't end their though... they will make you believe they are rich and before you know what is going on, you are spending 200 dollars, 500, 3000 and then they will come to you with great offer of their luggage that contain either money or great treasure to be delivered to you before they come to meet you.

Real men do read profile when your photo get them captivated but scammers might not have the time to do that

I read and find so many from small towns. How many women can possibly be here from a town of 500 people? After that no reason the read the rest of the profile.
