I am in love with a guy from another country, I met him while I was studying and it was the last month of my studies. When I finished with my studies I came back to my country and went back to his country to meet him 5 more times after that. We are very close, he wants me to move there forever, wants to marry me so that I won't have a problem with the residence permit. But I told him I cannot leave all my life behind. I am not sure one can be happy after such a change. He calls me every day and we speak for hours which is not helping, I found myself being in a long distance relationship just like that. And I am not willing to relocate.

But....There's also the possibility that I live in one location but only for a short while, then will be moving to my permanent state in six months. I would only look at that state. Long distance until then. Nebraska here i come.....

I would relocate. Anyplace can be a happy one with the right someone and carrying with it your happiness and strength to begin with.

i relocated once and had my heart broke, but it was in neighbor city. the return was so worse. now only for marriage. |

It would depend a lot on how much time we spent together prior to that drastic a step because while I would be glad to have a good relationship I have a low desire to move somewhere and disrupt what I have going, and planned, for a iffy romance that had not matured in person. I would have to not only have him come to my environment but me spend time in his. My plan long term would be to be closer to the east, specifically the greater Atlanta area because I am predominantly a warm weather person and my younger family members are there or could easily visit there. I discussed this topic with some of my friends that thought relocating closer to others made sense, kids specifically , and universally the majority opinion was for both to move away to place of their choice as far away from "kids" as possible from both sides. Was why several had actually moved where I live now; to get away from the outlaws. Oops inlaws. lol |
