Interesting...hmm..well read, well traveled, experienced in the ways of the world and contemplating a fourth marriage !!

Well, when you tell them, "Tell me about yourself!". They dont go on so long that you pull one of these numbers....

This question has forced me to do an inventory of all the people I find interesting and to assess some common traits they share. Here are some of them

1. A unique perspective on things or a unique way of expressing a common perspective.

2. Quick wit

3. The balance between being introspective but sociable at the same time

4. The adventurous and playful spirit of a child mixed with the wisdom, consitency and contitution of a grown up

5. confidence mixed with Vulnerability and humility

6 people who appear to know themselves, are comfortable in their own skin and who make you feel comfortable in yours

7. A passion for learning new things about themselves, other people , life...

What does "interesting" mean to you, as it pertains to the opposite sex in personality and physical attractiveness?

AND...How does one become interesting?

To me this tells more about the descriptor ...not the one being described by them. The answers in this thread reveal an ungodly amount of insight into the people responding..... so many obviously inadvertent "tells"

I would like to make to make a small correction.to my post if I may.

I mentioned that the no 6 . Qualty I found interesting was :-

But I wish to change it to :-


6 people who appear to know themselves, are comfortable in their own skin and who make you AND OTHERS feel comfortable in THEIR skin.

I made that change because it has never been enough for me to experience a man affirming me.Its always been equally interesting to witness him affirmimg others and making them feel comfortable in their skin...flaws and all :)

As for your question , how does one become interesting? I think its by being the best of who they authentically are. You may not be perceived as interesting by everyone, but hopefully you will be interesting to a handful of sincere like -minded people

That's a really hard question to answer.. you go thru profile after profile and they are seem the same.. blah..blah..blah..
then something catches the eye.. Something in the eyes perhaps..
or a turn of phrase.. Something that says 'this one is different'

You start looking and find this person has some quality that
you are looking for in a partner.. intelligence, humor, openness.. whatever does it for you..

Sometimes it's in the forums.. something they wrote that somehow grabbed you.. leading you to check out their profile..

So you write.. and they check you out.. and find you interesting..
They write back.. and then wherever that leads to. If you go in with no expectations.. you don't feel bad if things go nowhere..

Now.. how to *be* interesting..? Just be yourself.. don't *try* to be anything.. I'll guarantee there is someone out there who will find you fascinating..

Of course, they are probably on another site,
so it may take a whiie..:-)
