There is something about Island life that you cannot have anywhere else. I also agree with your choice of Malta. Beautiful Island and the food!!!!!!!!!!!!

there is.. and no.. you can't!

so I assume you've been to Malta? my initial thought when I first spotted the island from the ocean "wow.. looks like a sand castle, like something out of Camelot" happy the closer we got, the more fascinating the architecture was and the water more azure.. simply breathtaking..

Barcelona is nice too.. very clean.. nice people and food, a lil pricey.. but they don't pick up after their dogs.. mind you, they have these feeding stations for stray cats.. it's like no one owns any of the cats, only dogs.. the cats just roam free.. interesting! Architecture is to die for!! love
not sure I'd like living there though.. a lot too touristy for my tastes..

Rome has tons of history.. but I wouldn't live there either.. wayyy too stressful! that said, I would visit again!

I wouldn't live OR visit Turkey or Egypt again, sadly... I had weird, unsettling vibes in Turkey and too many "interesting" memories from Egypt.. both are beautiful countries.. just not my cup of tea

ma bad for the ramblin.. laugh I love travel though, discovering new cultures first hand, trying exotic foods, marveling at the different styles of architecture, the history... yup.. I'm like a kid in a candy store bigsmile

For me, I cannot think of a more beautiful place then Vancouver Island off west coast where I am now. Nice beaches and great salmon fishing, even just boating , so many places and islands to check out. Just an overall mild climate place that you can get lost in the beauty. waving

Salmon? You mentioned salmon?!?! I think I wanna move now!

For me it would be England. Australia is also VERY appealing, but too far away from my son and my mom. If they'd move with me, which should be possible if I'd have the means to live the way I want, I'd prolly be off.

England however is closer to home. A nice cottage in Somerset ... man, I think I'm gonna pack me bags right now! I effing  England!

Much easier to flog my books (written in English), no more Dutch subtitles (ok, I don't watch tv anymore, but the subtitles are one of the reasons for that).
Good bacon (oddly enough imported from Holland, not available here though), Bramley apple pies, Mint Aero, OMG MINT AERO!!!! YAMMIEE!
I think I'd gain a few stone LOL.

And still close enough to Holland to occasionally pop back to get some good ole Dutch chocolate sprinkles and licorice.

Salmon fishing is best in the world. People come from all over to get them, along with great crab and prawns

a place where there's sun,sea and sand.as a recent yoga practitioner I do have affinity to utmost solidarity and inner peace...Australia is only one of my top choices.

but, given my hopeless romantic side.I love Paris, not until such time I'd finally found my lifelong partner.i'll surely explore the city of love creating beautiful memories that last for a lifetime.

Depending on the political climate I'd chose a country in Africa. Probably Rwanda or Tanzania.

Both would be very interesting

I spent three months in Rwanda two summers ago and I was sorry to leave. Beautiful place and the people are as nice as can be, for the most part.
Tanzania borders a huge lake and the variety in fauna is simply outstanding.
Just about anywhere in Africa would suit me, let alone what goes on there presently.
