I know some of you may see me as "new" but in reality I've been a member of this site since 2008 (before it was even called mingle)

Shout outs to my other "JustSayHi" peeps!

Anywho I thought it would be helpful to post a thread with tips for navigating and getting the most out of your time here.

Everyone feel free to chime in with your own tips.

This is not a thread to complain about people or the site, but rather to be HELPFUL.

Ok, go!

First tip: JOIN THE COMMUNITY

This is where all the active members are, and it's a good place to get to know people.

Start threads, interact, make the mods do some work tongue2

I actually Remember you from back then. I also joined back in 07 then changed my username and came back with this one in 09..

My Tip for newcomers..

Take the written word with a grain of salt.
We don't know the other person and we don't know what they are going through.

Keep open to possibilities...

I have a question to ask on this thread. I see a lot of profiles that have a "just say hi" or "mingles 2" logo printed over their profile. They say they are looking for a relationship or marriage. I feel they have been here for a really long time. Should I take those people seriously? Just asking for advice. They how they are online.

I messed up that last sentence. I meant to say that those people have shown that they are currently on line and a member.

Don't throw out a random "hello" on a mingle2 thread with a specific topic.

I have been here since August of 2010. I stay here because this website is entertaining to me. Plus, I enjoy the banter of several of the members.

Keep in mind that this site isn't just for dating.

If their pictures still have the logo on them then there's a good chance they are very old. You can take them
As seriously as anyone else here but I would recommend asking for new pics.

Best tip I have for newbs is to use 'Recent Topics'
to surf the threads, to see what is current:

The negative is some are professional online daters and players, and will lead you on until the bottom falls out, the positive, maybe someone who you do not agree with their opinions and you overlook their posts will someday become friends with you, this has happened numerous times to me.I have been surprised to find out how nice some are in private...Proceed with caution.

My best advice is do not give Tips to the Scammers!

Many feel that it is helping out the new members where in fact you are just educating the Scammers more..

Stay safe find out how to google pictures and do it regular~~~

If it looks too good and sounds too perfect listen to your gut~~

Stay in e-mails it's free to all~~

Check out the forums and enjoy the site~~

Ohhhh and welcome back msmykawaving

Also a tip for all the ones that have been here for a while---be kind to the newbies you was once new as well~~~Give them time to know your sense of humor~~~

Generally have fun and enjoy your time on the forums. If you do happen to fancy someone, go to the private inbox, and try to make it happen...its much more fun that way.....just saying...
