I tried typing the commands in and they kept assuming I had an image location in between so they didn't show up. In the Help topic they are posted as an image so they show up. flowerforyou

I would really like to see your guitars.

Do you play as well?

I play for myself and not that well. I haven't played in a while and I am talking myself into getting back into it. I have a Harmony dreadnaught that is still pretty new and badly needs to be played to bring out more of her mellowness. I love her though. The neck is slender enough for my hands so it is much easier for me to play. She has great tone, but I am sure it will improve if I start playing her again. I'm not even sure if Harmony makes accoustics anymore.

Soothes a weary soul sometimes. I just put a rod Stewart record on, nice music to play along to. I started to learn the mandolin part to Maggie May, yet another instrument that needs attention!

Ok now that I finally figured out how to do the image thing... (and for all the people that messaged me requesting to see some of the guitars)... Here is the 1980 Gibson Firebrand Les Paul guitar that I completely restored. This guitar had been completely stripped of all electronics and hardware. The neck was bowed and the body had started to split. I replaced all the hardware and electronics with all Gibson components. It was a lot of work getting the neck straight again as someone had over tightened the truss rod. This is the way guitar looked when it first left the Nashville factory. The body, neck, and headstock are solid American walnut. It plays beautifully now.

Beautiful, I'm impressed you do all that yourself! I'm out of town, actually on the road now for work, but I'll work on it when I get back and have a moment.

I've had a number of guitars, and never really met one I didn't like.
Not long ago I bought a Taylor 814ce,and I really like it. The only thing I'm going to do is take it to Taylor, and have the frets filed.
I like a low action, with no buzz, and it takes someone who has the right touch to get those frets exactly right.
I played an old Silvertone, that had some work done on it,and it was just great. The guy who owned it plays on weekends in El Paso, and really had his guitars tweaked just right. He plays at the saddle blanket shop..

Wow that Taylor is a very nice high end guitar. I like all my guitars with a fast or low action as well. Definitely take it to Taylor if ya can and have them do the fret work and filing of the nut. That's too nice of a guitar to let somebody not representing Taylor do the work. Fret buzz can sometimes be a pain to sort out.

This next guitar was again stripped of everything. It was new, but the neck had been broken. Its a Epiphone custom pro. After I repaired the neck I copper jacketed all the cavities inside the guitar because I was going to run a split coil setup. I picked up a couple of '57 classic pick ups and the Gibson electronics from a wrecked Les Paul Standard. It has a a 15bd gain switch which is nice for solo's and a master tone. This guitar sounds and plays like it's much more expensive cousin.

Heres what the copper jacketing looks like. As you can see it requires a 9 volt battery for the 15db switch.

Here's the front of the guitar just before installing the pickups, again with the copper jacketing, (which is grounded), to prevent hum when I split the coils on the pickups. You just pull up on the volume knobs and it splits the coils on the either pickup. Gives you a nice hum free single coil tone.

Thanks Miss T, Hey I retired early and when everybody is getting all bundled up to head out into the nasty Canadian winters for work, I get to sit at my bench and work on my guitars with a nice hot cup of coffee and my bunny slippers LOL. That's for all my fellow Canadians bigsmile

Here's a pic of my fender telecaster. The back of this guitar had been damaged in shipping. Especially the back of the body, but the front was untouched. I completely re-did the back of the guitar and brought it back to its original glory.

Here's how the back of the guitar looks now. I had to sand it down by about an 1/8 of an inch to get all the scratches and gouges out of it.
