I was standing in my living room

still married and a stay at home mama

youngest was in the walker

oldest was in 3rd grade

I just stood there staring at the tv

thinking how unreal it felt

watching the twin towers fall

knowing I had stood on top floor

in 6th grade when we went out there to visit family

I was in Anchorage a sleep when the phone rang...
My mom sounded so old and fragile I was awake in an instant told me to turn on the t.v.

I had had an discussion with them only 2 days before about diversifying their assets. Since they were in high end money markets. I immediately thought the stock market had crashed.
"I remember asking did the market crash."
My Mom just said turn on the t.v. and hung up...

I turned on the t.v. just as the second plane crashed. I was in shock thinking WTH. as a clip showing the first place hit. I sank to the floor and watched it unfold.
I remember when the Pentagon was announced I thought of my nephew and where was he?
When I saw the look on President Bush's face my heart broke and I was so proud of him for holding it together in front of those children.

Not even 20 minutes after they announced closed airspace a huge jet flew by my hotel. It was coming in for a landing. The next thing I saw was 2 fighter jets in the air. Found out later it was a Korean passenger jet that was escorted to Whitehorse. Yet I will admit it terrified me.

No We were "Attacked"

So many things ran through my mind where were my kids were they safe? Family where they safe?

Watching that unfold on t.v. seems like yesterday...I can't forget where i was that day and what happened that day.
I refuse to forget that day.

The one thing over the years that has struck me and I can't shake it. I grew up in a small town and had the innocence of being safe and free to be a kid. I knew about Pearl Harbour and yet that was in a time of war...9/11 wasn't.
My grandkids never got that chance to have that freedom all because a "monster" chose to do a test run in 93 and "nothing was done"... that we had 9/11/01...

I have flown in to New York several times since this attack and it still is surreal to me not to see the towers...

Yelling at the TV News Anchor man for trying to emulate the War of the Worlds skit. I thought nobody is going to believe this crap. Although the images looked very real. I changed the channel so I could watch some real news before work. But there it was again. I turned channel after channel and just stood there starring at the TV in shock and awe.

I started watching the coverage just a little after the first plane hit. The anchors were reporting that a small plane had hit the WTC.....and all I could think was that it was a big azz hole for a small plane.

I was in NJ ... my daughter was at school ... I was on the phone with the library... trying to get them to donate some of their old stands with wheels they use taking books back and forth from the shelves and returns ...for the schools library for the children... did not have the tv on ... but got another call from a friend telling me to turn on the tv... and told the library I would call again ... they understood ... well op like u had fighter jets come over the house... ask my friend was she going to go pick up her kids from school. thinking I was going to being all those jets where flying around ... called school asked how every one was ... I lived near a lot of bases + their where a lot of the young kids going to that school also that lived on base ... but they said it was being handled ... I said ok I would call back soon ... me thinking soon the school might go to lock down and I either wanted my daughter or wanted to be their with the kids... well I called back said I would like to pick up my daughter and I new the office ladies... I was always volunteer when I could in between work and all ... and the lady in the office whispered to me... they did not have the security procedures in place yet... being the kids just got back to school... so I said will be right down lol to pick my daughter up and asked if they wanted me to stay and help ... they said know ... I was only minuets from the school got there is a flash ... so I met my daughters teacher in the hall bringing my daughter up to the office ... and she kinda yelled at me . nxt time if i could give a bit of notice would be nice ... realizing her teacher did not know what was happening ... so I said I would do that and thanked her ... thinking was not my job to tell her what was going on ... they never told the teachers ... and a lot of those kids had parents and loved ones in most of these places on 911...well as I was leaving so many thought it best to pick their children up ... so many where rushing in ... felt bad for those kids going home to the bases ... they had MPs on their buses going home...must have scared ...these young children ... I got home my daughter ran off to play as I watch the rest of the chaos that was happening ... had friends in NY... friends of friends at the capital ... heard later they died ... I believe it was a gut renshing day for all Americans... Will Never Forget:cry: ...

I was in Calgary in bed just waking when i was told about the tower by the time i was dressed to go to work the second tower was hit. The trading markets shut down. I phoned into work to tell them i not going in to work today due to the building i was working in. To my amazement i could not believing what i was watching and seeing when the towers collapse it was unreal and very eery and extremely sad knowing people were caught in the tower. Words would never adequately describe the emptiness that i felt and the hopelessness.
May God Bless the families that suffered their loss that day, and all the days that were to come. May God's Grace be put upon them each and everyday of their lives.

I was at work when my mom called and told me that a plane had crashed into one of the towers. Then she said there was another plane headed for the towers. Just then my boss rushed past my cubicle into the conference room and I heard him turn on the tv. I hung up with my mom and went into the conference room with a lot of the other staff and we watched horrified as the second plane hit. Everyone was in shock watching the news coverage. No one was making a sound. A little while later our boss told everyone we were closing the company for the day and for everyone to go home and be with their families.

Was at work watching a tv. Trying to figure our how a commercial liner could crash into the first tower when suddenly the second crashed. My immediate response was "this was on purpose".

I use to travel by air a lot back then. By the end of the day I stated "this will be their one and only chance to do this". In the future most passengers will do what the men on Flight 93 did: I know I would.

I was home sick with the flu. Luckily. I was scheduled to be fixing printers in the Pentagon that morning.

I was watching what was happening in New York, when the third plane flew low over my house, on it's way to the pentagon (I lived on a hill above it, less than two miles away). I felt the crunch when it hit, and saw the fireball from my window.

The main thing I remember thinking and saying to try to calm my neighbors down, was that we were probably relatively safe ourselves, because the people who were attacking us had very specific and good aim.

I can definitely relate to this. I think some of us on the East Coast, who were , 'to close for comfort', were thinking 'Primary & Secondary targets'. And went into a sort of crisis/ survial mode, automaticaly.

When that actually happened we were asleep because of the time difference.
I heard it first on the radio and then turned on the TV.
It was like watching a movie. I couldn't believe some people would be so horrible.
