teens should be suspended

teacher who didn't know and reacted when they realized should reinforce to the students that its not acceptable,, not be fired

people do not all work Monday through Friday jobs
many have days off on weekdays
many are unemployed
many are supported by a spouse or a parent

protesting is a reflection of that

Yeh, well instead of being unemployed, why not use that energy to find a job... isn't feeding and housing your family more important that lighting fires and rioting?.. or do they expect to find a job fair in the burnt out neighborhood.

what happened to priorities?

Oh well, maybe that's just my upbringing. I was brought up to take care of my family.

going to school function at your kids school is supporting the family
maybe they work a diferent shift maybe they are self employed

kid gets suspended for nra shirt or gun shirt a murder skit is way beyond a shirt ---

a gun shot [even a fake one] in a gun free zone can incite a panic

no the kids should get 50 hours of community service each not a vacation
[also known as suspension]

 Great idea! Community Service.
(In addition to being expelled and investigated).
Manual labor. Picking up trash on a highway. (Definitely not something dealing with the public). Productive citizens- obviously neither them nor their parents are, or this disgraced teacher

I might be ok with that after a full threat assessment done by the FBI's BAU, the Secret Service and the CIA. I have a hunch these two wouldn't pass though.

Look lets not go overboard OP. Lol.
Throwing the baby out with the bathwater no?

Kids will be kids. With all the pokemons outhere as parents, you will see their kids acting out to get approval from these "leftist trained parents". So let the babies have their bottles. We dont know for sure if the teacher knew about it for sure. Let it slide. Remember, its death to kings and queens, thats why we got rid of the american pharoa.

why not use energy for multiple things, like everyone must do to live?

fires and rioting are illegal.

priorities don't require one to put every moment of their time into any one thing,,,

Fires and rioting are illegal....... what a newsflash...no kidding

So at that time.. that is their priority.. isn't it? Breaking the law, creating havoc and committing crimes.. that is their priority

And it shouldn't be.. should it

And again, if you have the time to do that stuff.. then you have the time to find a job and actually contribute to yourself and society. As opposed to being a drain on it. To do something positive as opposed to wreckless

You want to make a statement.. do it the right way. Do it the non destructive way. Don't burn stuff down, assault people, riot. because anything short of that discounts anything they do. And they are looked upon as what they are. out of control...thugs. And nobody really cares what out of control thugs think.. or want.

You want to march.. fine.. march, but do it the right way.. not closing down highways on a whim, thus putting yourself and motorists in danger.. not putting a strain on local police depts., who now have to try to safeguard your sudden outburst and tantrums.

And if you are a school kid and you cut class to do some illegal demonstrating and you are caught. And you should receive community service.

In my town that consist of picking up trash on the roadways ( under the supervision of the police dept.). And you know what.. that is embarrassing for them.. picking up trash with this bright orange vest on.. as your friends and neighbors drive by

Good!!.. it should be embarrassing

Suspending kids for wearing t-shirts? What happened to the right to "Bare Arms"?biggrin We are allowed to judge others and they have a right free speech. Send your kids to a private school if you want them to wear a uniform. Ban the Confederate flag because a few people have used it as a racist symbol? This is the Political Correctness that has been brought up so many times. Who is the judge of what is "right" or "wrong"? You can judge things anyway you want, but you don't have the right to say someone can't do it.

As far as the FBI, CIA, and secret service, they have much better things to do than to babysit a couple of kids that did a "skit". Get over it people and move on to something that is actually important. I'm sure their are millions of threats on the internet to kill people, but we have to look into the ones that are serious, not waste our time on the ones that are not.

teens made bad choices,,thats no newsflash

give them consequences that teach and perhaps their choices will be better informed

expulsion would be consequence not befitting a teens bad choice
the teacher was not involved in the bad choice

suspension for inappropriate behavior, perhaps some assignment about presidential assassinations,,,and the parents have their own task during the suspension for finding a way to demonstrate how serious taking a life is

yes.. and maybe a good lecture from " Smokey the Bear" on why they should not play with fire.

yes, if they were younger and made a bad choice involving playing with fire

but being they are teens who did an offensive skit about assassination

suspension for the bad choice
along with an assignment to learn about the seriousness of assassination
and parental involvement

seems like a more appropriate and productive 'consequence'

The parents failed. Nothing anyone can do about that.

The kids, and the teacher got away with it. THAT is the controversy.

If it was handled properly, there wouldn't be a controversy.

But since it wasn't, this criminal behavior will spread, like wildfire.

Those students and the teacher should of been made an example of. That this behavior will NOT be tolerated.
 But they weren't.

So let's pretend it is no big deal and it will all go away.

Or until entire school districts of 14 to 17yr olds take the streets, get rounded up by police, carted off screaming "it is racism and police brutality, and we are only children who need to be heard ".

And law abiding, tax paying Americans WON'T care. Why should we?

But hey, images of America cops, in riot gear, carting off  (children whoa) will be WORLD NEWS.

And TRUMP will still be President and the American people will still say, "Lock Up The BUTTER CUPS" , because there are more important things to worry about.

the kids didn't get away with anything

the teacher didn't do anything that she needed to 'get away' with

people do and can make a 'controversy' out of just about anything, has nothing to do with whether something was proper

only has to do with people disagreeing on what proper is

Yea their 16yr old brains are still developing for other information alright. Something so basic as NOT killing someone, anyone, should have been addressed much much earlier? I think so

You're a funny gal MsH, I learn from you often but in this case, you fail to see the ulterior motive and the potent power of suggestion in a mock assassination of the President-Elect. It was probably brought on by the kids immediate family? I assure you, the typical 16yr old IS NOT thinking of murdering ANYONE for political purposes.

Would you also have Trump do an assignment for the "grab her by the P***y" Comment? Do assignments really help with such things? Things like this should absolutely be common sense no? I heard Trumps brain is also in developing stage. glasses

looking backward is good for reflection but not for progress

after reflection, it is necessary to determine a way FORWARD

so, yes, there are many things that 'should' be addressed in kids that
are not being addressed

many people (young AND old unfortunately) do not take death seriously enough unless or until someone they love and care for dies

if and when it becomes obvious that they do not grasp the reality,, as in making a joke about assassination , I consider that a teachable opportunity, even for teens,,,

Trump is 70 years old, his brain has long since stopped developing, his teachable moments have passed
