Why does it feel like there are very few people on here being serious and participating in these threads I don't understand why there isn't more people on here. I understand that a lot are watching but just how many are watching? If you are only watching let me know. I don't understand why you only watch when everyone is having trouble getting through all the bots and scamers.

between work and taking care of the house i live in sometimes I don't have time to always post something or even respond. I'm lucky enough to check my own messages to weed out the scammers. So yes I do watch when i am doing a quick check on some of the posts. Sorry if i'm just watching from the side lines to offend you

Because some people just like reading what is said without participating. That is a choice for each member to make. Some might go into a topic and realize it doesn't interest them. Many different reasons

Many times I don't have anything very interesting to say.

I agree but if you look at it. At least one post on someone else's topic that makes you look intelligent can help yourself and also the people looking for someone I understand sending someone a direct message but you are more likely to get a reply from that person in the forums first will get you through the door a lot easier. I don't know I'm not berating them I just don't understand it. You don't have to reply all the time it's kind of like Facebook if their message doesn't interest you then don't reply.

Ome317, it seem you're assuming the purpose of the forums is to impress onlookers. Some are here for merely for the conversation and don't give a damn about what others think. If you're not being yourself and voicing opinions that aren't your own, then how are you different to the scammers. Wasting someone time is depriving them of the opportunity to find that which they may actually be seeking. It's not all about money.

Once upon a time these forums were very active. That was a long time ago, though. I could explain how and why it all changed, but why bother? Either enjoy what they are or not. smokin

the threads can get intimidating, aggressive, and insulting, many people probably choose to pass up the opportunity to be on the receiving end,,,
and many others probably are merely here to actually contact potential partners (email)

Seems to me (don't get all butt-hurt) that you are expecting other people to conform to your impression of what they should or shouldn't do?
This is common in both sexes and affects the relationship building process.

People are all different. They say and do things for their own reasons. They don't do things for their own reasons. The key is to know this and accept it.

The only person you really control is yourself. Expecting others to act as you decide is trying to control that which is not in your control. It causes you to feel frustration.

Participation in the community forums is not mandatory. People choose to participate or not based on their own will. Topics that are important to you may not have importance to them.

Personally, I believe the best way to expand my profile is to participate in the forums. This allows anyone that wishes to look at my participation and see my personality. I see it also as a tool to discover things about myself that I can't put my finger on. A self-improvement, if you will.

Others may see the forums as s diversion to life's hectic ways. Like an entertainment they read. Still others may see the forums as something else entirely.

No matter how anyone else sees this, how you see it is the only thing that should matter to you.

Well various answers to that.
I think a big part has to do with Mingle not being a really good dating site. If it was, they'd delete accounts that had been inactive for yonks. That way what the site offers would be up to date, would likely attract less scammers, and would be taken more seriously.

All the sites I got on to find a partner were like that. If a dating site doesn't even take themselves serious, you cannot expect ppl to do that either. If you really want to present yourself as a worthy, valuable dating site, you gotta work on having worth and value, and an up to date, active member database.
A stale database of members who haven't been on here in years has no value whatsoever other than making the site appear popular and big, and I suppose thus attracting sponsors.
I know other sites do a similar thing, having thousands and thousands of members, while in actual fact 80-90% of those aren't active at all anymore.

And no matter how much I like Mingle -cos of the forums- as a dating site it lacks horribly.

Not complaining, I'm not here to find love, and never really was either.

What CrystalFairy says is accurate! ~Kudos~

Personally, M2 has resulted in aboslutely nothing for me except as a community forum. It is merely one of many dating sites I frequent, but its free so why not?

Hihi, yeah... And not to make it into a rant, I absolutely love the site (the forums) but then again, I'm not looking for love here.
But if they'd clean up the database more, they might lose current sponsors as suddenly they're not so large anymore. But I've often wondered what good porn sponsors are when the site itself is supposed to be PG13?
We can't mention a helluva lot of things because it is too explicit for the sponsors, yet all the adverts are about porn?

Anyhow, just curiosity, not an anti-Mingle rant. Like I said, I like the forums too much, and with that the people who make them interesting.

I have never seen porn ads myself, but the ads come in a package. The site doesn't get to pick and chose the ads

I would think how things seem may not be how it is. In many groups there are only a few people who speak up for the mass. Sometimes that is an accurate representative and many times not. Think student government on steroids.

I agree it is frustrating but your match list is only a corner of the dateing pool in your area. Mine is not even representative of w
