So I am new here, but not to online sites. I was informed by a member I was rude to ignore their messages and should have just replied I was not interested. I found this odd. Do people actually reply to everyone they aren't interested in? I kinda thought was one of the benefits of online people meeting, to just ignore people you don't want to talk to. I can understand telling someone in a bar that is hitting on you that you're not interested or they are creepy, whatever. But digital rejection seems sort of a waste of time?

second.. there are some people (ya me to sometimes) that feel bad by not replying.. so they reply to every email they recieve...
even a curtosey .. sorry not interested....
true it is a bonus of onlining that you dont HAVE to reply to all.. but it is a commonly practiced curtosey in here..

it saves people from being jsut ignored... it hurts less to have a reason.. or at least a no thanks.. than to be just ignored...

you shuld always at least reply, wiht a thank yuo but no thank you. I reply to all of mine withthe sole exception of aggressive ones (which I have received) which I report, and the ones (very few here damn it) that are trying to just hook up for sex. My profile says plainly Iam not looking for an intimate encounter so that is my response there. But those are the ONLY two reasons I do not respond, and I also block the aggressive ones. If someone continues to email me after I say no thank you, I block them and thats hte end.

i put a lot of thought in to that response..

I try to be nice to everyone and reply but sometimes there's not enough time and other times it leaves a door open that you didn't want to open.. I usually just say thank you and try to leave it at that... but you have to do what works for you.. as long as you're not down right rude how you respond or don't is up to you and must be what works for you... There are a lot of nice people on here that can become good friends.. Still your personality is what make you who you are and what you need to follow.. Who knows you may find yourself wanting to respond regardless of interest, after getting to know how nice everyone is..
