One of my favorite authors is frank peretti, If you haven't heard of him it is because he mostly writes christian fiction, but he is really good at it. One of his best books, in my opinion, is The Oath. They are supposed to be adapting it to a movie...i can't wait!

Awesome Author flowerforyou

One of my favorite writers is HP Lovecraft, he wrote the scariest most head-bending short stories and novellas ever
No writer (not even stephen king who is one of my favorites) gets into the readers head and messes it up the way lovecraft can

I am a major King fan. Sorry to say, I hated " the girl who loved Tom Gordon". I know King has a way of wirting from a one person perspective, He did a great job with "Geralds Game", I just think "The Girl...." Fell a little short.

Stephen King got me with The Stand and then the Dark Tower mythos I was addicted..However my bread and butter is Fantasy books, namely Dragonlance,Harry Potter,LOTR et al. However I do have one that few people have heard of that is tremendous and full of wisdom. The Bridge Across Forever by Richard Bach...It's the authors account of his finding his Soulmate,His one..For example.."You are never given a wish
without being given the power to make it come true." Bet you've heard that and not know where it comes from.

Director Guillermo Del Toro has written a screenplay based on Lovecraft's story (At the Mountains of Madness), but in 2006 has had trouble getting Warner Brothers to finance the project. Wrote Del Toro, "The studio is very nervous about the cost and it not having a love story or a happy ending, but it's impossible to do either in the Lovecraft universe."[16] The film is now scheduled for a 2010 release.

To say I'm excited would be an understatement. Guillermo is an amazing director and he shows a real love for the source material, unlike so many other directors.

happy I am a die hard book fan. My parents tell me I learned to read at the age of 3, probably because everyone in my family read to me as a baby. Since my mother did not have a TV and both sets of grandparents doled out TV in very small doses reading was our entertainment. I too would have a hard time naming a favorite genre because I read it all fact or fiction, historical, present day, futuristic, sci fi, whatever. I do prefer books in a series because that is my version of TV, I just can't wait to find out what the characters will do next.
