I think the most important thing we can do when enforcing our policies
is to be fair and consistent in executing them.

Typically when we ban people, we will continue to ban as many copy
identities as we find. This has always been our policy.

Now obviously if someone were to create a whole new identity and act
appropriately then we would never find out. And that's ok for the
community because its not disruptive.

Some bans are not permanent, we'll build a suspension feature to make
this more clear to the banned/suspended. We plan for moderators to have
the suspend feature.

Once we have moderators, there will be clear guidelines for everyone to
understand and follow.

The overall goal of this effort is to encourage people to talk freely
and openly and in a fun and safe environment. It is not intended to
make people feel they can't express themselves. We're just asking
people to do it with a little more tact. This is a site for adults, so
let's act like adults yes?

Personally I think a Mod or two is a good Idea. Most of the time it
probably won't be necessary to ban anyone. Guidelines are just that,
guides to go by. A slap or two would let them know its not acceptable to
bash or curse anyone out.

It would only be a BAD thing if the moderators picked were
PERSONAL with CERTAIN ONES, and then VAN, would not allow THEM to be
MODS, any more.....SO,,,,ALL COOL!!!!!!!!

Well speaking from experience yes the mods can be kept in line I had one
guy the whole time as a mod that was really bad it actually wasn't
personal cause alot of the peeps didn't like him and none of the mods
did including the SysOp. I would literally hunt him down in chat
everyday after work and wait for him to screw up but you would have to
understand the gravity of the situation he was wanted by the FBI as well
not long after he started his crap. I wish I still had the logs from it.

Mods. are needed just like our gov is needed, but I should HOPE that our

i don't care whether we have moderators or not but i basically agree
with vanchau about using tact when discussing a hot topic. having said
that i also think that it is important that we don't sterilize the
community too much because you will basically take cover up someones
personality in the process.

when are the guidelines going to be released and are the offending
parties going to have a chance to tell their side of the story before
judgement is rendered or is everyone involved going to get booted for a
couple days?

king.. after the holidays are over we'll get back on this.. everything
is on hold because of the break.

but basically all actions are logged. we'll have guidelines on what
actions to take. we'll also build a suspension feature since that can
be used.

most likely people will get suspended first, then banned if it
continues.

the bottom line is that if a person is simply negative to the community
there's no need to have them on the site. we don't want to make this
place sterile, just fun and safe for EVERYONE

Again....Vanchau.....who determines if someone is being negative ,or
not....it sounds like you,d prefer this site to be like Mayberry, or
some mystical place inwhich few are allowed.
A closed society....maybe you,re more comfortable with that.
In real life...you can,t just push a button and the people that you deem
a jerk, or don,t like just disappear. Anyone who,s read this thread in
its entirety....can see how many times you,ve changed your mind on how
this Censorship issue will go.
Now, just making negative comments can ban someone.....talk about
