So I'm sure some of you have heard about 2012 being the apparent end of days, this is supposed to be the year that the world has a dramatic shift in climate and the north/south poles realign. Scientifically this has been pretty much solid, the timeframe is rather vast however as a certain year is far less accurate than an exact date. Being as I am quite interested in the end I figure the end of the b'ak'tun is the day it will fall on, however there isn't really any solid proof that the Mayan's in fact chose to end their calendar because of this. Although it should be noted that the Mayan's have correctly predicted every star movement and moon/sun rise/fall.

With no disrespect to the Mayans, I don't think that 12/21/2012 will be anything but another day.

It may be that they are correct about a shift in global occurrences relating to electromagnetic fields and stellar positioning, (since they were definitely meticulous and correct in their predictions previously) but I doubt that it will be the end of days.

I'm not actually minding much if it ends in 2012. I will never ever have to turn 40, never have to suffer through my children turning into teenagers...Alas no growing old, and no teen hormones Sounds like BLISS!!!

Death is just another part of life, this world may end but we will only enter into some other place, the place is a mystery but I firmly believe that.

I'm not personally putting a lot of faith in it either, it's just interesting how their calendar ends the same year that scientists are predicting a global shift.

That was a myth, and in fact several computers did crash on new years of that year. This however is scientifically proven, the exact date is rather hard to calculate but we are in fact supposed to get a major global change in climate.

This just pisses me off. I will FINALLY be done paying off my studen loans in 2012 and now the world is going to end? There is no justice, I tell ya.
