I saw a picture of one of Palin's kids flipping the bird and remembered when something similar happened to me.

I was working in my flower beds in front of the house when I noticed that a couple cars slowed down and glower out the window in my direction. The kids were playing just behind me but were fairly quiet so I didn't think they were the trouble. Then someone walked past and muttered, "Well I never!"

I looked up then just in time to see my four year old daughter giving a vigorous one finger salute to the pedestrian and then to a passing car!!

I scooted her into the house and we had a little chat.

So, have you all had similar experiences and if so how did you handle them?

I do have a question. Who taught the children to do that?
They had to see it somewhere.

I got a feeling Palin's kids have seen a lot more than someone flippin the bird.

Yup, my kid did, when he was probably 3 or 4, had no clue what it was. Where did he learn it? God only knows. Neighbors, other kids in the neighborhood, my ex, something he caught on tv, driving in the car. Kids see and remember lots more than we think they do and they always try out the stuff we'd much rather they forget

I bet you were mortified! It's funny how kids will mimic something. They always do it just when your thinking what a little angel you have. Does she have an older brother? It seems like I always learned the bad stuff from my older brothers. I have 2 girls and they don't seem to do that as much as I did growing up. My one sees or hears things at school, but she usually will ask me about it first. Or at least I THINK she does...

My son taught it to everyone at daycare.He knew what it meant and told them instead of saying FU,give the finger so the babysitter can't hear.Unfortunately for him,she caught him lol
My kid learned it from my driving,other kids,TV and movies.

so what is the point here? what kid hasn't flipped the bird, unless of course they are new borns or under the age of 5., any kid that goes to school learns about the bird, geeeezzzzz



do i aggree with it, of course not, just tell them that it is not a good thing to do.


as far as it be palins kid, who cares???? obamas kids have probly done the same thing, there is just not a picture of them doing it....geeezzzz

Aww, kids normally do what they have seen, be it flipping the bird, sticking their tongues out or just giving out mean looks.

Didn't ever catch my daughter flipping anyone off (when she was younger) but did catch her plenty of times sticking her tongue out at people.
