You misuse the term "revisionist history" here. In reality, the term is used to describe a type of history that departs from the "official" version of events touted by intellectuals/officials in the search for what actually happened in the past. Historians actually do this quite a bit. Otherwise, you have a decent motif to build on in future drafts.

Thanks for the input. I actually meant to use revisionist history the way I did. We all breathe revisionist history everyday due to people twisting the past to achieve their own agenda. That's a big part of what the poem is about.

That's true, but such people are more accurately called "fabricators of history" than "revisionist historians". As I was trying to explain before, when new methods of research develop, we find new evidence-leading to new conclusions about existing data. Thus revisions must be made to the record to reflect the new data. "Lincoln Unmasked" is a great book in this genre of history. :)
