Well, I'm a Blues fan so having gotten to watch Pronger for a long
time I can say he's played the same way his whole career, you might not
like it but he's not a guy who uses his stick in dangerous ways and he's
certainly not a guy who goes after the knees of other players. As for
that hit the only thing I can say is that it's something that happens a
lot (and I've been guilty of it too, though not to the head); that is
giving a guy a shot as he goes by you.

As for what Pucks said, Pronger IS a classy guy. I've gotten to meet
him a couple of times and he's polite and well spoken (about like most
hockey players; who, I'm convinced, are the nicest in pro sports) he was
even trying to win fans over the day after he was traded to St. Louis
(for fan favorite Brendan Shanahan) when he was facing a pretty hostile
crowd at the mini press conference (with fans in attendence). I wish he
was still in St. Louis and I like him as a player but I hope the Sens
come back; I don't think I can stomach another ex-Blue winning the Cup
after leaving.

I don't suppose those fine folks in Vermont remember what happened the
last time secession was tried do they?

I have to agree with Pucks, when you're out there the first rule is
KEEP YOU HEAD UP. Pronger isn't dirty (he's an SOB but that's another
thread) and his play has remained tough and steady over the last 8
years. If you ask a hindred NHLers who the top 5 dirtiest players are
I'm willing to bet Pronger doesn't get named more than once or twice;
Tootoo from Nashville is a hell of a lot worse and guys like Marchment
(is he still in the NHL?) deliberately went after knees.

I may be wrong but I think he might be asking do the league try to
"fix" who is playing in championship games. It may seem like it but I
really don't think so. If so we wouldn't have San Antonio Vs. Cleveland
in the NBA it would be L.A. Lakers Vs. New York (two teams that are
going nowhere and getting there fast) same with Anahiem Vs. Ottawa or
even St. Louis Vs. Detroit in the World Series last year. As a hockey
fan I can tell you that the NHL officials are so afraid of affecting the
outcome they "sawllow their whistles" and refuse to call anything that
doesn't require a call the the local CSI.

Sorry, I meant to say "...you start to think not so nice things."

Actually, I'd say that racism and bigotry know no social, ethnic,
economic, or educational boundries. When I was in high school, having a
conversation with someone I respected very much (and who had a Masters
Degree, history I think, but I digress) made statements regarding
peoples sexual orientation and color that I simply couldn't believe that
this was the same person I thought I knew pretty well.

Also, men of all colors are this way, not just white guys. I ran into
that on a lot of occasions with my ex (she was hispanic) and I at
restaurants and clubs. You hear "What's a fine lady like you doin' with
a cracker like him?" a few times and you start thinking such nice
things. Like I said, it's universal.

OK ladies I've re-written my ad deleting and adding per your
suggestions and the new pictures should be up in a week or so.

To answer some of the questions: Yes I do mingle in the forums but I
may not be quite the familiar face as some are since I don't participate
in any threads that like "How hot am I?" or "(fill in the blank) person
above you." No, I don't care for my ex in "that" way anymore. I hope
she does well in her life (and that her BF contracts a schorching case
of herpes) but she's not a part of mine.

Thank you for your input and if there're any other changes please let
me know.flowerforyou

OK, scratch what I said. FIFA rules indicate that if a player is
listed on a NT roster that their club team MUST release them for duty
with their respective NT.

*Stands on soap box* This rule is BS! While most clubs do make an
effort to release players to NT duty when/if it interferes with their
club schedule, most if not all euro clubs are about to enter their off
season (along with most South American clubs *I think*) and that is when
most qualifier games are played- the Euro off-season. However because
MLS plays a schedule contrary to those leagues this rule is being
applied in such a manner that it will cost the league it's most
recognizable face (Taylor Twellman would be it's best player- a St.
Louis guy happy ) and thus will sap any L.A. matches of both star
power and media coverage (think a PGA event w/o Tiger).

*Steps off of soapbox* Is Beckham overrated? Duh! He does one thing
well- set pieces; however, he does them in a manner that only a couple
of players in the world can be placed in the same class as he. Since
set pieces are such a major part of soccer play and strategy, a player
who can do the things he does is a major weapon and not to be taken
lightly.

Since my ad on here doesn't seem to be having the desired effect (I.E.
I don't log on to a plethora of hotties, of which I need just pick one
lol  ) I'd like to enlist the lovely ladies of JSH.

Fix my ad please!

After taking a critical look at it, I can see where mentioning my ex
might be a bit of a strike. However, it seems like questions 1 and 2
when ladies find out I'm divorced are always "Are you still in contact
with her?" and "Are there 'issues" I should know about?" (paraphrasing
on both of those). I'll be getting new pictures in a week or so and I
believe all of my important qualities and hobbies are included. All
that's required is that you ladies make me a wanted man... no, not like
thatglasses.

As far as Beck's return to the ENT, I think it's sort of a stopgap
measure from the coach (remember there're 26 players on current NT
rosters 6 more than in an international tourney) so that if a team
chooses not to release a player to the squad he has a backup. However,
of the players likely to NOT be released to NT duty Beck's is the most
likely because of:

1. Travel time- L.A. to a Euro qualifier is at least a 5 day trip
(allowing one day at each end for jet lag).

2. Squad strength- This is the ENT team we're talking about, not
Romania of the half dozen teams in the world that can do without a
talent like his England is one of them.

3. Scheduling- Unlike the Euro leagues which are running to the end
now, MLS is entering the meat of their schedule; additionally MLS has
scheduled L.A. to visit each team in the league at least once AFTER
Beck's arrival.

4. Money- See #3. With Beckham on the team L.A. sells out the
soccer-specific stadiums in the league and pumps up attendance in the
others. Without, attendence in the same as before (though ticket sales
have already occoured for most of those games).

As for the Spanish Elite League, sorry Alada, but I'm an EPL guy.

I don't think you can call Carter a bust, at least not fairly. He was
hurt in the preseason (unless I'm totally wrong it was the first snap of
the first game) and was never the same player again; injuries don't make
you a bust, being healthy and just not playing well makes you a bust.
To that end let's throw out the names Tony Mandarich (2nd overall
Packers), Dan Wilkenson (1st overall Bengals), Brian Bosworth
(supplemental draft Seahawks), Akili Smith (3rd overall Bengals), Heath
Schuler (3rd overall Redskins), Lawrence Phillips (6th overall *sigh*
Rams).

OK, I'll bite. It's McFadden all the way (barring injury). He's got
speed, he's got power and it's not like he got a lot of support last
year from his teammates so he should do about the same this year as
last.

One point about Martin Rucker (since I'm the resident Mizzou fan
here). He's not even the best TE on his own team, Chase Coffman is.
Both of them are physical specimens (Rucker 6'6" 255# Coffman 6'6" 245#)
with Rucker being a step or two faster and Coffman having (debateably)
the best hands in the Big XII. Neither of them are particularly
accomplished as blockers, but our offense doesn't ask them to be either
(they are willing blockers though). It's possible one or both might
slip into the late first round but early-to-mid second round is more
likely for them since they won't physically dominate at the pro level
like they do in college. If used in a Gonzolez/Gates/Winslow (whose dad
went to Mizzou) type role they will be huge stars, if they're asked to
be a Jack of all trades, they'll be huge disappointments.

LIBRA - The Lame One (NOT!)
Nice to everyone they meet. Their Love is one of a kind. Silly, fun and
sweet. Have own unique appeal. Most caring person you will ever meet!
However not the kind of person you want to mess with ... U might end up
crying.. 9 years of bad luck and a sore ass! These people are probably
the most dangerous sign in the Zodiac. They can be very quick to right
wrongs usually with force and dire consequences. Warning Do not cross
them. Vengeance is theirs.

I'm glad I'm a Libra.

Bryan Adams- Have you ever really loved a woman?
Colin Raye- In this life
Chely Wright- It was
Chad Brock- Yes!- I still tear up when I hear this song, it reminds me
of the first time I knew I was in love.

It's not a love song but Meat Loaf - Read 'em and weep makes me think
about love too (OK, a lot of his songs do).

I'm actually finding it interesting that the guys responses are almost
50/50 I would have guessed it would have been almost 100% "yes".

To answer the question though, my ex wife was bi, and as Inmiamisburg
stated, it wasn't an issue because 1) I loved her for who she was and
trusted her and 2) we discussed it and decided on the "ground rules" if
that situation ever came up... and because I know some nosey person
wants to know, no, her being bi was NOT the reason we divorced.

Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow Jr. both of whom are pretty talented
(when they're healthy).
