Is it necessary to sleep with a person before deciding to get married to said person? My parents didn't and they've been married for 57 years. Best answer yet...Definitely do not need to have sex before marriage to have wonderful marriage  People from that generation often stay(ed) in marriage by default as they didn't/don't think it's right to get a divorce. Not even when things are bad. Apart from that, people from that generation had totally different views and beliefs and expectations from a relationship, not necessarily better. Just different, congruent with those days. Also, in the 'old' days it was also perfectly okay for a woman to not get pleasure from sexual activity. It was done in the dark under the blankets so to speak (and often prolly even literally). These days that's not acceptable anymore in Western countries, not by most anyways. So to admire it ... sure, in a way .. but ... only if you put it in perspective, not in comparison to how things are now. That just doesn't make sense. |
