The American Way or The European Way...That is the Question?

Or

Trickle Down Economics V Social Democracy

And meanwhile the FED is bailing out the EURO with Billions of Dollars!
Europe has gone to the Dogs!
What Social Democracy?
Brussels?

I think he meant socialist utopia..

Then again there is "The Third Way"laugh

THE FUNCTION OF POVERTY
The standard of living of the average American has to decline...
- Paul Volcker, Chairman of The Federal Reserve, New York Times, 18 October
1979, p.1, Volcker Asserts U.S Must Trim Living Standard.
'Money is power'. Well, to be precise, it's the gap between the rich and poor
that counts. The objective of the elite is to maintain the capitalist structure as it
is with one vital difference. There will be no middle class in the New World Order.
Under public-private partnership, the middle class, free markets, and consumer
choice will be replaced with a neo-feudal society in which the Money Trust
dictates to an impoverished populace through a supranational technocracy. This
is international socialism, run for the benefit of the financial elite who own the
economy and control the emerging continental Politburos. The polite name for it
is 'The Third Way', but less deferential commentators call it 'corporate fascism'.
The corporations need government to restrict consumer choice in the market
place, allowing the cartel to determine what we can buy, sell, or even do in our
own homes. The 'Third Way' is the path to utopia for our self-appointed
philosopher kings, advocated by the likes of Bill Clinton, Tony Blair, and Gerhard
Schroder - their senior political puppets. There is no difference between
ostensibly right and left wing political parties about the eventual destination,
even if they appear to be travelling at different speeds towards it.
Real power, then, is achieved when the ruling class controls the material
essentials of life, granting and withholding them as if they were privileges, as
George Orwell reflected:
From the moment when the machine first made its appearance it was clear to
all thinking people that the need for human drudgery, and therefore to a great
extent for human inequality, had disappeared.
If the machine were used
deliberately for that end, hunger, overwork, dirt, illiteracy, and disease could be
eliminated within a few generations But it was also clear that an all-around
increase in wealth threatened the destruction... of a hierarchical society. In a
world in which everyone worked short hours, had enough to eat, lived in a house
with a bathroom and a refrigerator, and possessed a motorcar or even an
airplane, the most obvious and perhaps the most important form of inequality
would already have disappeared. If it once became general, wealth would confer
no distinction. Such a society could not long remain stable. For if leisure and
security were enjoyed by all alike, the great mass of human beings who are
normally stupefied by poverty would become literate and would learn to think for
themselves; and when once they had done this, they would sooner or later
realize that the privileged minority had no function, and they would sweep it
away. In the long run, a hierarchical society was only possible on a basis of
poverty and ignorance... It is deliberate policy to keep even the favoured groups
somewhere near the brink of hardship because a general state of scarcity
increases the importance of small privileges and thus magnifies the distinction
between one group and another... The social atmosphere is that of a besieged
city, where the possession of a lump of horseflesh makes the difference between
wealth and poverty.

This reminds me of what our founding fathers were running from when they left their home along with the relentless religious dictatorship.

yes, when they helped 'build' the nation using the labor of natives and africans,,,,,,,wish we could go back to those glory days,,,

America is not failing the 1%drinker

Am I Rich?

If you make 50k or more a year, you are in the top 1% of income earners in the world. If you earn $1,500 or more a year, you are in the top 20% of income earners.

Economics is not a 0 sum game, we can grow the pie. Why the war against prosperity?

try to survive in america on 1500 a year

context is important,, the value of the dollar is different across nations so blanket comparison of how it fits in around the world is bad analogy

its not a war on prosperity,, its a war on the EQUAL opportunity to be prosperous,, which, although there are many amazing stories peppered throughout to keep people 'believing' is not working

as the gap between prosperity and poverty is just becoming larger in OUR country,,,so that those few who are doing well IN THIS COUNTRY will basically create a third world environment where they actually run eveyrthing and decide who they are willing to let enjoy those benefits with them,,,while everyone else breaks their backs to get by

if I had to just throw out names of some I enjoy it would be the fellas on the blue comedy tour,,,minus Ron Tate

and the fellas from the original kings of comedy,,,minus Dl Hughley

Dave Chapelle and Kevin Hart of course

Sinbad,, who hasnt done mainstream in years, but whom I LOVE,,,

Yep, just like the individual mandate in Owe-Bummercare...pay or go to jail!

but they arent collecting that while you are getting medical care

just like the taxes they use towards the roads arent colllected by people stopping you on your way to work and 'collecting' it,,,

ITs interesting that as a culture we seem so pissed at spending for things like education or welfare but so amped up about spending on prisons and military/weapons,,,,

I just dont get how our priorities are so off whack,,,,

One has to ask the questions

Who Benefits from building Prisons and Military Weapons?

and

Who Benefits from spending on Education and Welfare?

Do you think that the wizard of oz just waves his magic wand and the all this military stuff just appears or would think that the million or so workers in the defense industry might benefit just a little from having a high paying job?

Or should we just eliminate their jobs and use that money to support them with welfare?

That seems to be your position..

nope, my position is that we are more than willing to spend on those jobs in the case we have to defend life but not willing to spend on the everyday reality of having to PREPARE our kids for their futures,,

so we just keep repeating backwards techniques of preparing for the worst as opposed to creating the best,,,

So...how does this actually effect any of us?

How does it effect you?

It affects me because it pisses me off. I see and deal with punks and wanna be tough guys like Martin on a daily basis and guess what they ALL end up the same way, going away with the metal bracelets on.

wanna be tough guy? is that why he changed directions, crossed the street, AND ran? doesnt sound like someone trying to be tough,,(especially while on the phone with a girl, the prime time tough guys show off...)

on the other hand, getting out the car to follow around someone 'suspicious' and 'on drugs' (who turns out to not be on drugs at all) so they dont 'get away',, is pretty tough guyish....

No. He turned around got in someones face and made threats and attacked someone.

And no, that is someone who is concerned with a spike in crime rate in his neighborhood. Do I agree with how Zimmerman handled it? Absolutely not but I do think the moment he listened to the dispatcher and backed off and Martin approached him Martin was in the wrong.

lol, we will wait for what the evidence finds, in regards to how soon after the conversation he 'backed off',,,,,,

all we KNOW is , (according to zimmerman while on the phone)

treyvon changed directions, crossed the street , and ran,,,,and that Zimmerman was at that point FOLLOWING HIM,,,,

Zimmerman was jumped from behind. That's the only way a kid like Martin could have got over on him and bloodied him up as shown in the pictures taken by police right after the incident.

Tell me this. How much experience do you have in actually stopping a crime in progress? How much experience do you have taking someone into custody? How much experience do you have investigating a crime that has taken place? How much experience do you have in interviewing a suspect in a crime? How much experience do you have in defensive tactics and restraining someone? How much experience do you have in self defense?

which version is that?

how do you 'get up in someones face' from behind?

the pictures I saw were of blood on the back of his bald head,,blood runs down, its called gravity.

Im not a cop, so I dont stop crimes, take people into custody, investigate crimes , interview suspects, restrain people,,,and I have no legal right as a citizen to do any of those things either,,,,

lets wait on the evidence,,,,

Let's see, I do all of the above and I am not a cop and actually you do have that right it is called a citizens arrest.

I have taken over 1,000 people into custody and interviewed them in over 14 years of doing what I do. I have gone through extensive training over 40 hours of Defensive Tactics and restraint training a year (by choice) I am also a Level two WZ (Wicklander-Zulawski) certified interviewer. Also I am a Wicklander certified forensics Interviewer and a Wicklander certified interviewer.

I also took a lot more extensive training to be able to do my job and to do it very successfully. I was just recruited to a much larger corporation because of my training and the quality of my work and my experience.

thats good for you,, you are not Zimmerman and he was not you, he had no 'extensive training' and no certifications , he was just a want to be cop with no real legal authority over anyone,,,

and there is no court that would say you have the right to put your hands on me because Im 'suspicious',,thats a different standard than a citizens arrest to actually 'stop a crime in progress'.....

Zimmerman didn't put his hands on him he just followed a suspicious person.

Zimmerman wasn't trying to be a cop either.

we will wait for the evidence of what happened

Ummmmm, some of those movies like Rat Race he is. He is one of the best known Stand Up Comedians in the US and a contract star to Happy Madison Productions(Adam Sandler's production company).

I love Adam. I just see Lovitz as the kato kaelin of comedy,, mostly friend to alot of stars who put him on in their projects.

Really? He was headlineing movies and tv shows while Sandler was still an unknown bit actor on episodes of the Cosby Show.

He didn't get to where he is by being friends of actors.

Another thing that might make you think twice about Adam Sandler, he is a hard core Republican who donates the max to Republican candidates. Now I am just waiting to see you backtrack.

I dont really care about political affiliation when it comes to comedy. Funny is funny and commercially successful is commercially successful. I see Adam as both and lovitz as neither.
