I am so pissed off at the media for blowing this out of proportion and lying and doctoring evidence. They for one deserve criminal charges. Secondly people on neighborhood watches are supposed to be trained by police what they can and cannot do. I am pretty sure Zimmerman received no such training. One big Question is why Treyvon didn't call the police himself. He had a cell phone. He could have said, "Hey, I am being followed." Next the police response was so WRONG! They began to handle this like Firemen and it took a little time for them to get their act together. I feel this was a perfect storm of stupidity that led to a tragic misunderstanding. But some things many choose to overlook, Treyvon was no saint. There is a chance he tried to get all Macho on someone and he may have tried to handle things on his own. That cost him if he made the decision to try to be the man in this situation. If I had a gun following someone who was acting suspicious and that someone punched me chances are I would shoot them and unload the entire magazine into them. But I know all I am allowed to do is follow and observe and avoid contact if at all possible. All I am there for is to make sure the police know what they are getting into and let them do their job UNLESS LIFE IS INDEED ON THE LINE. Now all the parents want if revenge even if the facts do come out against them. It will be like Rodney King all over again and those Ghetto Trolls the Reverend Al Sharpton and the Reverend Jessie Jackson are spewing their hate speak and whipping the black community up into a frenzy. No outreach to protect others from this mistake happening again. No trying to make the community a better place by trying to resolve this issue properly. Just two racist priests, a hoard of Attorneys, and a lot of hate. Yep, this is going to prevent more stupidity from happening, maybe in backwards land. thats only a part of whats happening, what is also happening is a careful review of stand your ground and other laws in my opinion, this man should never have had a gun, with his record of physical infractions against others,,,,and of overzealous pursuit of others thats part of whats wrong with this equation, I dont feel he would have the guts otherwise to follow or potentially confront someone and there is the frame of mind of the person being 'followed' to rightfully feel that zimmerman was likewise 'suspicious' |

That's because this case against Zimmerman is beginning to unravel and the truth is starting to surface. He will be cleared of this then there will be riots in Florida. or, a grand jury was just not needed to make the decision,,,, However from what I know about this case it will not be shocking when they find it justified, in fact the only reason I could see it going to trial would because its election year. October is the month to look for, if they do not start the proceedings prior to that then its not going to court at all. it is true it wont be shocking to be found justified however, a reason it could go to trial is if there is reasonable suspicion that the denfendant has created the circumstances of the death by his own wrongful conduct, which would negate his right to invoke a self defense,, defense which could very EASILY be the case here,,, |
|
|
|
IF it is a given that someone has initiated an attack , than harm to them in the form of defending yourself would often fall under self defense,,,,except in those places where a 'reasonable' force rule is applied
So everywhere in the USA. The SCOTUS set the definition for self defense, all state laws must comply with that ruling. I already refuted the tired old canard that is labeling this a SYG case. This falls under the SCOTUS supreme court ruling on self defense. the kid was unarmed and half his size. You have been corrected multiple times on the size difference between the two.
One was 6 foot 3 160lb the other 5 foot 9 200lb. Not a big difference. Also if this case did play out with a witness who saw the attack, and knows Z was on bottom begging for the fight to stop then no state in the US could prosecute Z based on the supreme court ruling of self defense witness they could call into question that witness account. I personally am not willing to believe any single piece of information that has been released becuase far too often we are seeing contradictory information. So we will have to wait and see. self defense requirements vary from state to state, and STATE supreme courts have set those standards,,,, |

There's been an awful lot on the news lately about bullying and how bad it is and it got me thinking of how hypocritical everyone in The USA is. The United States is the bully of the world. I am truly on the fence on the issue. On the one hand I totally agree bullying is , at the very least, not 'right' on the other hand I expect EVERYONE will and has been bullied at some point by somebdy and it may be as harmless as teasing or lying or gossip,,which are equally not 'right' but shouldnt be harmful to someone with a solid foundation and sense of self I Think the issue may be more in the types of children we are raising, the lack of self esteem and self validation,,,,than the types of bullies that have always existed I think kids have become more SENSITIVE,, but bullying hasnt become any more or less common than it always was,,,, Id never discourage people from discouraging bullying, but I do feel we should be discouraged from 'blaming' bullying for those actions children have taken against themself |

Sharpton Re- negs

Fredrika Wilson D.Fla. Now, she was sure that Trevon was hunted down by Zimmerman like, as she said, "like a rabid dog and shot". She must have known something or she wouldn't have said that. Would she? ![]() she may have been stating a personal opinion based upon the fact that Z admitted to following the kid, in a car, and THEN on foot and the fact that Z had a gun on him at the time and the fact that Z did indeed shoot an unarmed minor dead....after referring to him as an Ahole and expressing frustration that he might 'get away' I don't think so. I think that she was speaking from a personal racist viewpoint. I'm no genius but I can detect racism when I see it. ![]() quite possible that her personal viewpoint does include the realities of race relations that she has had personal experience with,,, |

Just goes to show, it's not Al Sharpton or any other mobs decision or choice. Once again, the Justice System has once again worked. I agree, lets see what the investigation continues to turn up,,,,and what happens from there,,,, It's a Done Deal. dont bet on it they didnt use a grand jury for OJ either,,,its not an absolute,,, |

Yup, that's why Sharpton and that Congresswoman are stepping away from all of this also. one HOLIDAY off, does not constitute 'stepping away' from anything,, |

The Stand Your Ground Case

Let's review, it's Florida it wasn't cold and that is why senior citizens go there during the winter. It didn't warrant wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the hood up to conceal your identity in a store(which is never warranted btw). NICE TRY,, why is he heard saying its cold on the tape then? Florida does get cold at night,,,,it doesnt stay hot 24/7 365,,,,,travel a bit,,,, No, it is pretty warm there around the clock, much like Vegas. But you will whatever you can to defend the PUNK. Pah. Wishful thinking on your part. As per the 911 tape... Zimmerman stated it was raining... ergo Hoody UP. I would like to see this tried in a court of law. I will not convict either man... Nor will I stand by and say nothing when twisted facts are relayed. Those tropical rains are just so cold........... ![]() still no answer on why Zimmerman was wearing a HEAVY JACKET,,,much heavier than what a hoody is,,,,,???? Yes, we will probably never know everything. ![]() no, but we can make logical conclusions if someone was wearing a heavy coat and taped saying 'its cold' and the average nighttime low in that ragion at that time is in the mid fifties to sixties ,,,it was probably cold enough for a hoody,,, and if that fails, there is generally a weather forecast that can be recalled and reviewed, to help with that particular knowledge It get's a lot colder here then they could ever dream of and I have NEVER wore a hood up on a hoodie......... still not sure why these posts are stated so matter of factly simple research of the two areas and their climates is all it would take to refute the notion that its never colder in florida than in nevada, or that there is not hoody weather in either place hoodies are not HEAVY material, they hust have hoods and ZIMMERMAN himself is seen on tape wearing a HEAVY jacket so the very claim that Florida is not ever cold enough for a hoodie must come from intellectual dishonesty or plain ignorance,,,, |

what is the difference between 'bashing' and pointing out fallibility?
I mean, personally, I see those who never see anything right with 'Israel' as being just as delusional as those who can never admit anything wrong with 'Israel' |

I believe in aliens. (Non human type) Feel free to laugh out loud at that. I'm really quite used to that. I hope I am wrong cause the aliens are not nice -- and they are not all our friends. They could just be demons. Some religions believe in demons. People laugh at that too. If you believe in God and the Devil, you shouldn't laugh at me for believing in aliens. They could be one and the same. That's all made up fiction conjured up to scare the masses. You may place your faith in man-made stories, but I don't. Why should I believe in your pure fiction. There is absolutely NO EVIDENCE of your ficticious characters! FICTION! FICTION! FICTION! FICTION! FICTION! IT'S FICTION!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I simply stated that I believe in aliens. I did not say that YOU should believe. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() However, religious fanatics try to convince others that they should believe the same or else they will go to hell. You are more than welcome to believe in fiction. If you want to believe in fiction without evidence, that's fine. Just remember, IT IS FICTION! LOL! Aliens are a lot less ficticious than God. It is massively probable that somewhere out there are many other forms of intelligent and not so intelligent life. This is based on science, and not any kind of ficticious book. The only reason there is no actual evidence of life elsewhere is because of the massive distance there would be between us. The nearest star(besides the sun) that a planet with life could potentially be revolving around, is about 25 billion miles away. We'll most likely never see any evidence of aliens but it doesnt mean they aren't out there. if its massively probable there are other forms of intelligent life,, what mkes it so improbable there is such an intelligent life that we refer to as 'God'? Because we exist it is likely that others exist, it makes sense. They would have evolved in the same or a similar way we did. An omnipotent creator doesnt make sense, because it begs the question, who/what created the creator. And who/what created the creator's creator etc, it doesnt make any sense at all. think about these two sentences "They would have evolved in the same or a similar way we did." "An omnipotent creator doesnt make sense, because it begs the question, who/what created the creator." ....this begs the question of who would have created the other lifeforms,, which similarly doenst seem to 'make sense' evolution requires a process, but processes start somewhere,,,so whether it is intelligent lifeforms on other planets or a God in the sky,,,ANY theory comes back to the ultimate debate/conflict of 'ok,, and what came before THAT....?' the beginning could probably not be explained or understood in the terms we have come to be familiar with but the 'beginning' could be a question used to refute ANY theory of intelligence, on earth, in the universe, or in the heavens,,,, and one we most likely will not be able to prove an answer to,,, |

Reading about what someone can do to a tiny baby makes me want to bring back public hangings. Where was the mother, I wonder? Hang her useless a**, too, if she was aware at all that this horror was going on. That aside: We do have enough legal sickos in this country, gawd knows we don`t need more of `em who are ILLEGAL. I would surely vote for a guy/gal who had the guts to say that we need real SECURE borders to begin with. No such person could win, because too many people do not want that. *Side note: Google Garrett Hardin regarding border protection. the southern border is nearly 2000 miles and the northern border is nearly 4000 miles its naive to think either will ever be 100 percent secure any more than every house in any one town or every person in one town will be 100 percent safe I dont really believe that most people dont want 'more' secure borders,, its just how to make that happen or prove it has happened that is the issue,,, It is not naive to expect some money and effort to go into creating stronger borders. It IS more than the government is willing to do. I disagree. I believe the government does and has thrown 'more' money and effort into the borders,,,the only debate is on if and when it will ever be 'enough' money and effort to appease a majority,,, if thats what a "majority" wants, then thats what he should be doing... the us budget doesnt necessarily work by majority rule,,,, neither does obama...mainly lies about it tho... no, as president, he mostly works by CONGRESS rules,,,, yea, right... is that why is bickering with the supreme court right now? I guess he's thinking his "messiah" status can make the justices bend to his will... nope, but its probably why he has issued an average of only one veto every year and half of his term pretty much allowing congress rulings to stand,,,,, |

NEW YORK CITY -- There are some books and some movies that just stay with us because they find a way to touch us, provoke us, or give us pause.
Fifty years ago the film version was released of an American literary classic that took audiences on an unforgettable journey into the heart of racial injustice. The film adaptation of "To Kill a Mockingbird" was a study in black and white, and it embodied the qualities of the Pulitzer prize winning novel. Like the book, the film is still provoking discussions about moral courage, justice and racism in America. Now, it returns with a slightly different look. But the message still resonates. The film's 50th anniversary is being celebrated with a restored version that will air on the USA cable network. It will include an introduction from President Obama describing its enduring power. Last week, he was host at a special screening at the White House. "He said it was one of his favorite films and you know he thought that I had done a very good job with everything, which I was very appreciative of," said Mary Badham, who played "Scout" in the film. Gregory Peck's unforgettable portrayal of Atticus Finch, the lawyer who defends an innocent black man in the Jim Crow-era South, reflected the simmering reality of a nation's struggle and shame over race at the dawn of the civil rights era. "It was quite an impactful movie and one that bravely talked about race in an American society that was trying to sweep things mostly under the carpet," said Michael Eric Dyson, a Georgetown University Sociology professor. The author, Harper Lee was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2007. "To Kill a Mockingbird" was her only book, and though she rarely speaks publicly, this week she said she was proud to know that Gregory Peck's portrayal of Atticus Finch lives on in a world that needs him now, more than ever. Badham agreed. "Very honored to have been a part of this film that has touched so many lives and that means so much to so many people and has such relevance to what we're dealing with today," Badham said. http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=148&sid=19906850 I dont usually get into the old black and white films, but I agree that this one is a classic that sticks with you. Brilliant performances all around and a tough topic to approach, especially for those times. |

seems more like a case for a healthier diet than one against flouride
my sister is a dentist,, my daughter/ her niece, has a flouride treatment twice a year I doubt she would do that if it was 'poisonous' and I think she actually went to school to learn about teeth as opposed to being self taught,,,,,, not to disregard that it probably can like ANYTHING else be poisonous if abused or used improperly,,, |

Not sure if it's article 134 or 138 of the ucmj. but its the article that covers all articles not covered. Catch 22. If they want your *** they're gonna get it. This marine was warned, he was told what the consequences were. He picked his fight and now he has to deal with the fallout. I don't give him high marks for smart but I give him an A for heart. Sempre Fi means a lot more than lowering your eyes and saying yes sir. All military take an oath to defend the constitution from ALL enemies foreign and Domestic. If his belief is that strong and he wants to go for it about all I can say is OOHRAH I just dont get what it was he was trying to 'go for' by posting on his adverse feelings on the internet....??? |
