There's been an awful lot on the news lately about bullying and how bad it is and it got me thinking of how hypocritical everyone in The USA is. The United States is the bully of the world.

I am truly on the fence on the issue.

On the one hand I totally agree bullying is , at the very least, not 'right'

on the other hand I expect EVERYONE will and has been bullied at some point by somebdy and it may be as harmless as teasing or lying or gossip,,which are equally not 'right' but shouldnt be harmful to someone with a solid foundation and sense of self

I Think the issue may be more in the types of children we are raising, the lack of self esteem and self validation,,,,than the types of bullies that have always existed

I think kids have become more SENSITIVE,, but bullying hasnt become any more or less common than it always was,,,,

Id never discourage people from discouraging bullying, but I do feel we should be discouraged from 'blaming' bullying for those actions children have taken against themself

Dude, I got bullied a lot and I got punished for fighting back. Now I am even more violently disposed towards bullies. I NEVER liked them. But the UN leads us by the nose and made us the police force of the world which SUCKS. Our political leaders lost their spines and people have no real clue how to deal with it.

Bullies have to be dealt with or they will never stop. My personal favorite was singling out bullies and showing them a real good time bereft of the support of their friends. Another personal favorite was showing up on them with a group of my friends and rat packing them armed to the teeth. Nothing takes the steam out of a bully like ganging up on them or making them BLEED PROFUSELY! Some people really need to be hurt to teach them to behave.

That sucks too but hey, I never went around starting anything with anyone. Why should I have to suffer at the hands of others? When I do have kids I will teach them from very young the teachings of Sparta, give respect but when shown belligerence and offense to unleash the pimp hand for the pimp hand is strong.

If you really want to mess a bully up toss him in the closet with the scary clown!

bullying tears apart a persons 'sense of self'. It carries life long effects. How can you possibly not blame bullying for the consequences of that?

because we all choose how to deal with obstacles and problems,, and the 'consequences' depend upon much more than just the bullying,,,,

I agree with the author of the thread. I'm not so sure that we and, what we call, Israel aren't the biggest threats to world peace.

How do you say ***** in English?

I agree with the OP. America got the notion during WWII that military dominance is good to have. Since then, it has gone into the heads of heads of the nation, and it trickled down to every last dope-dealer.

In 1958, there was 1 hand gun for every 1000 U.S. citizen. Now there are 32 guns (hand guns, rifles, semi-automatic assault weapons, hand granade launchers, flame throwers, cats in heat, and Danish pastry chefs) for every man, woman and child on US soil.

What can I say? The UN thing is sootratpoint, becasue the US has not waged a war anywhere on the face of the globe since WWII. This is so because according to the Geneva Convention, and the Helsinki Protocol, a nation must declare war before attacking another nation.

The US, in its about 10 infamous ongoing and long-term regional fightings on foreign soil since WWII, never declared war.

But they shout the hardest that we must put an end to terrorism.

You know what terror is? "Warlike attrocities in peacetime."

Go figure this out, my gentle Americal readers.

I am Jewish, and I agree. The creation of the State of Israel was a tragical mistake. It did not need to be that. Its creation was fraught with diplomatic incompetence, or with diplomatic cruelty.

The creation of the state of Israel was similar the creation of the world by God. A lot of mistakes were, made, both creations were done in haste, and the design in each case was not intelligent at all. A six-year-old kid from Greek god mythology could have done a better job.

They ought to have asked Votan's second cousin, twice removed, the little Bjorn Grog Urgeboer to do the job, and if they did, the world would be a lot better place then today. There would be ample-breasted, tall, slim, nordic beauties with platinum hair, six for everyone, and there would be much more operaic arias.

The world is doomed due to an ineffective design by its creator, and the Earth is doomed becasue of diplomatic stupidity. Furthermore, we Jews continue to be hated, for a totally different reason now than during the preceding 2000 years before the modern nation of Israel was made, but still. A Jew was hated then, a Jew is hated now.

So... what's the difference? Quit daydreaming, and go back to work already. Or else you you can count on waking up tomorrow morning as a soap-bar or a lampshade, young man.

We can't. We are neither gentle, nor Americal.

Well, OK... I can't then.

Never have understood the bully thing. Usually for me, someone would start something, there would be a fight and that would be that. Over and done with along with some bloody noses, scratched knuckles and a black eye or two. Know of course it is becoming a real issue with all the shootings and revenge ploys and such. Makes me yearn for the days where you just settled it after school.

In some cases yes. However, when you live in the country who is being bullied by it's neighbor it's nice to have your "big brother" around.

This mentality was very popular during the Viet Nam war. The hypocritical thing is the protesters completely ignored how much slaughter and murder the other side did. For every one unfortunate, inappropriate killing by a G.I. the NVA and VC killed almost one hundred.

You never heard the protesters complain about this.

On behalf of America...I would like to state...we can kick the living dogschitt out of anywhere on earth. (the biggest arsenal of nuclear weapons on earth with B-1's just happens to be 22 miles away from me)...next door to where I work.

Next time you wanna call everyone in the United States of America hypocritical...you need to realize that most people here just want to live thier lives, and raise thier children in peace while we watch thier children's children grow in peace.

Anyone who don't like that should get the schitt bombed out of em.

All Americans ain't hypocrites brother. But, we know a dousche bag when we smell it.

I hate to say this, but have to agree with you. There was a lot of Vietnamese killing a lot of Vietnamese, which by and large nobody never heard much about, until the Amys pulled everyone out; then the VC pushed down, and renamed Saigon into Ho Shi Minh City.

On the other hand, I also did not hear that the Viet Kong sent hundreds of thousands of troops clear across the world, to help decide the war between the Crips and the Panthers all over the US, and I also never heard of any nation sending any troops to the USA to kill people there in order to decide finally if it's Pepsi or Coke.

Then again, I don't read the paper every day. Might have been reported on a day I was out fishing or fissioning.

Just saying.
