Scholars like Derrick Bell applauded the focus of civil rights scholarship on race, but were deeply critical of civil rights scholars' commitment to colorblindness and their focus on intentional discrimination, rather than a broader focus on the conditions of racial inequality

yeah,, extremely 'kooky'

Actually got really lucky.

The Lehigh Valley was just celebrating it's, eh, whatever year anniversary. At it, I met the Store Manager of TD Bank.

I teased about how chitty it is to try and find a job..
..he gave me his card.

I called, got an interview Wednesday. :O

Sometimes making fun of a politician in front of a politician pays off. -.-

Andre Reed was there too.
..and the gay guy from Dancing with the Stars.. Carson something or other? xD

..interesting event, let me tell you. -.-

I didn't really want to go, but I volunteer with the Foundation, so, kind of had to make my cameo appearance.

problem is, no war was declared, and article four doesnt DEFINE what a high crime or misdemeanor is,,,,,

Article 4 doesn't..

But Congress has.

And to sum it up, the best way possible.

Rewind. 1970. A then Congressman, Gerald Ford said:

"..an impeachable offense is whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers it to be at a given moment in history."

This comment was in regards to the "unconfirmed" analysis of what constituted a "high crime and misdemeanor".

Somewhat relevant to his case. Andrew Johnson's impeachment.

Further note.

During Nixon's impeachment, let it be known that they did NOT cite him for tax evasion. Why? Because as they put it..

"This committee does not believe that is an impeachable offense."

well, I guess they will stop at nothing'

its still just as futile as the attempt to 'prove' he isnt american born or christian

I doubt most americans will support it, and Im twice as doubtful the Senate would get a two third majority needed to 'convict'

I also doubt whatever 'offense' they come up with would have a legal precedent as a high crime when committed by any other president in history

,,,,but whatever floats their desperate little boats,,

for there to be so much HATRED of this President that they go to such EXTREMES,,,,history continues to be written and its amazing to be a part of it

OBAMA 2012!

Oh I think a lot of people would see him impeached and I doubt he has much chance in 2012

for that reason I think the impeachment is a waste - he'll be gone in Nov anyway

the economy, gas prices, jobless and UNDERemployment rates, and questions about his naturalization all will hurt him - not to mention the bail outs and mandatory health insurance which is tyranny - this is the short list Harmony

sorry luv ya & I know how much u like Mr Obama

but I will agree, that as military commander & chief and President he deserves to be discussed with respect. And as military commander in chief (where I NEVER would have put him - no experience) his decisions are just that - he's allowed. that is wht it is so important to have someone in the office who can make those decisions

or someone smart enough to surround themself with those who have the experience to aide him in those decisions

luv you too, and think your short list is mostly propoganda
the naturalization issue is a non issue that isnt and will never be proven without also implying a whole state GOVERNMENT is in a conspiracy

gas prices, that a president has not as much to do with as GLOBAL oil trends do

the 'bailouts' can and have been argued to have stopped things from getting WORSE than they were at the beginning of 2009

the mandatory health insurance will continue to be debated by some as tyrannical and by others as within government authority to control inter state commerce, just as all other western governments do

jobs are picking back up as are employment rates, the economy will follow,,, not as QUICKLY as some were expecting or demanding, but it will happen just the same in part (in my opinion) because of actions taken under this administration

that and the continued polls which show OBAMA pummelling all other republican candidates

,, and I think not everyone is as sure that he will not get reelected

hence, the desperate measures to 'impeach'

,,,

Who cares if he surrounds himself with those people, he doesn't listen to them. He is on to much of a power trip and has to much of an ego to listen to him. That's why the top military leaders do not like or respect him.

Hell, even on the Bin Laden raid, not ONE of his advisors agreed with the Seal Team part of the raid and he didn't listen to ANY of them. That's just one example.

No matter what anyone says about Obama you will sit here and be a cheerleader for him and it's really sad.

No matter how legitimate a rebuttal I provide against accusations and insults against him, some will sit here and continue to call him names and repeat lies

and thats sad

Sean Hannity and Fox News who watches this garbage. Derrick Bell is a man who made a difference in the world. Look at all the people there.

Your right it is garbage Obama is good friends with radicals and terrorists.

Obviously it will hurt their campaign or they wouldn't have fought to keep it hidden for the past 7 years and tried to keep it hidden through this campaign.

it wont hurt his campaign in terms of anyone that was serious about voting for him

first, because all the video shows is him INTRODUCING a speaker at a rally about diversity (oh the horror!)...lol

and second, because it was part of his COLLEGE experience, over TWENTY YEARS Ago,,,

but they can keep trying, they DID eventually get Clinton for lying about a blow job,,,,when everything else was failing

maybe if they cant PROVE OBama is muslim, or not really natural born, they can sway people to believe he has RADICAL friends because he introduced a HARVARD professor while attending HARVARD,,,,

laugh laugh laugh laugh

Or because he spent a lot of time with Ayers and Ayers had fundraisers for him. Or him lying about him not being in attendance when Wright said those things but then statements and pictures come out showing him there duing those sermons. Then theres the Rezko, the political fixer who EVERYONE in elected office in Ill. knew who he really was and what he did. He only bribed Obama with the house siatuation and even lost money on that situation so Obama could make money and make his property more valuable. Then there was the main arms dealer for Saddam Hussein who helped Obama with hefinancial end of the house situation. Then there was the connection to Blago and also the selling of his Senate seat.

To many coincidences. Maybe if there was one or even two or even three but as many as he has.

You need to get over this Obama cheerleader stuff.

as soon as you are over the fabrications.....

how does a picture show which sermon he is at?
how come everything you allege is discredited by factcheck and/or politifact?

but I guess some think if its repeated often enough it will become true,

haha,, I also like the spice and colorfulness of latina culture

and the family and community centered elderly respect of black folks and italians,,,

I like how white folks and jewish folks seem to make sure and network to build within their families and communities,,,,

culturally speaking, (but not in absolute terms at all,,,) I could pick out things in every culture that I admire

I think Obama is in a JFK situation, many people in congress and around JFK wanted to go to war with Cuba, but he held back and eventually Russia removed it's missles from Cuba.JFK tried to assassinate Castro it failed, though he did resolve the Cuban missle crisis diplomatcally.
See Obama is assassinating threats and not invading a country cause he is trying to resolve the Iran issue diplomatically, but everyone around him and in congress, plus Israel are licking their chops to invade Iran. All i can say is "Obama do not ride in a convertible in Dallas with the top down."

that would be a fair warning from the DAY he was elected, when he became one of the presidents with the MOST assassination threats in the history of presidents,,,,,,

things change, but things remain the same,,,

Interesting tid-bit since ya'll mentioned the Civil War.

A. Johnson, the guy who succeeded Lincoln.

Congress created a bill, once he took office; that forbid him from firing any already approved congressmen.

He believed this unconstitutional, fired someone anyway, and was impeached. -.-

If I recall correctly, Lincoln was with the Union, and Johnson was said to favor the south.

Don't quote me on the last part though.

Basically comes down to Congress doing wtf ever it wants whenever it wants.

How many years? Not much has changed.

but we continue to think the President has the most 'power'.......

That' why I hate "politics" and I'm not as narrow-minded to just simply hate whomever the current president is and pass all the blame on him.

That's why I consider the President just a figurehead.
The only true requirements for him is being able to speak to foreign dikkheads, oops, I mean figureheads.

It's like this:

President wants to pass a bill, congress rejects; end of sorry (for the most part unless he refiles it).

Congress wants a bill passed, President vetoes it, congress can override the veto. (Last I checked).

Thus, a figurehead.

pretty much my thoughts

that he or she understand foreign policy and affairs, and be adequately professional and educated to sit with the leaders of other nations and not make us look like doofuses,,,,

are the two ABSOLUTES,,,most other things are values that I hope they share with me , and of course I consider how likely the congress is to agree with them and act upon those values in the laws they pass,,,

I would not want to see any of the other current candidates represent America to the world and I see the Healthcare reform as a historical and progressive achievement

so I cant possibly NOT support him

Expresses the sense of the Congress that the President did not comply with the War Powers Act when he ordered the April 14, 1986, attack on Libya. Urges the President to comply with such Act in the future.

war powers act is not about 'blatant disregard'

it is about consulting with congress before ordering military action

which Reagan did not do when HE ordered air strikes over Libya either,,,

he met with 'members' of congress,, as did OBama

but he never got 'congressional approval' in the formal sense of the ambiguous term

yep..imagine Jesus teaching his followers that they have a right not to believe in God ...

I must say that I never meet a Christian that would say something like that ...not even a Satanic Christian would say that

so MsHarmony..can you be the first?

who knows, since I dont know of Jesus teaching any followers about 'rights'

nor do I propose to be Jesus or have followers,,,,,

no need to get all legalise on me...I know that you can not suggest to anyone that they have "the right to not believe in God" and then claim yourself as a Christian ....

HAAAA

master of the strawman strikes again,,,,

then say/post it MsHarmony....say/post that everyone has a right "not" to believe in God? ....

I might have, had you asked nicely instead of commanding as if you had authority over me,,,,lol
