Christmas Spirit

Distance never questioned this devotion
Nor has the cold of winter drawn the warmth from your lips And when months passed without you The scent of your skin stayed The velvet touch of your hand lingered in mine And on cold nights alone and forlorn You were there entwined, bringing me to absolute But now I’m home, filling that hole much desired With no gift fathomable to compare to my love for you My only wish this Christmas is to take you up above the world Let these words lift you in ways you’ve lifted me And show you how it feels to be loved by you You are my Christmas spirit The true love in my life You bring back childhood Christmas nights, Restless til I can see you tomorrow morning |

Entering from the cosmos, elegant and pristine
Feelings of warmth overcome the direst of restlessness If only the sun should not hide, would this sensation be everlasting And would the new night’s light release me in my dreams But the toss and turns remain in the dim of night The stars taunt in every glance, The worlds collide, and the cold unmerciful How I long for your tender touch The silk of your lips wraps this impatience in serenity Possessing the strength to last for the sun’s return And the glistening of your eyes warms from the depths of the heavens Giving faith in virtue from beyond If only there exists a place beyond the sun Should our strength drift us from this final hardship |

Tranquility transpires with your sweet melody
Casting from all realism, an image unknown, All tides of passion flow within these closed eyes As we lay complete together in this barren field The sky speaks of all beauty and simplicity Gravity disproved by our lifted hearts With our hands joined we may lay among the stars And you’ll find your home in the midst of the angels The tone of your lips lightens all music If only I could sleep to the sound of your voice The sunset would be golden as the tint of your skin And the night would last forever So speak to the fields of passion, bellow your saccharine euphony And let us rise above |

Hidden behind merciless foliage
A glimpse of light remains concealed With arms too stricken to part the way, will necessity allow another endeavor? Or let the shadows mask all desire And when forces of routine demonstrate tomorrow isn’t near, Praise me with a promise; That when true eyes reopen, they will be filled And the warmth brings me to you Let these tired legs stagger and stumble on harsh woodland floor Each hour crawling closer to rapture, closer to the wrapping of your arms, Remaining justly a dream’s setting to be realized And if unattainable, will fall me victim to this night So please allow my faith in the light behind the trees And let this covet pull me through |
