I believe this is a trend among older men and I hear of it regularly. It seems to be a result of a decrease in sexual activity within a marriage as the woman gets older and postmenopausal. The other issue among older, single men is the inability to find a suitable female sex partner. It seems that older men who never before considered having any kind of sexual contact with another man are now considering it as there is no other reasonable option other than masturbation by yourself. I always heard it was older men that lost their sex drive and the ability to get it up. All my post menopausal friends have a great sex drive. |

I agree that dating sites can be depressing at times. I almost gave up a few times. I used to just chat with people on other sites as well as this one. I made some friends with whom I would chat on a regular basis. We would compare notes. On one particular site, I met a few men who were far from anything I actually wanted but I wouldn’t have known if I didn’t try. I tried to be polite at first and respond to all messages. Then I became more selective. I also stopped being so particular in the men I would consider dating. Most of us are seeking someone who is what we think we want and somewhat unrealistic. I responded to someone who didn’t fit into my limited category. We hit it off online and then in person. We’ve been dating for 4 months now and it’s wonderful. |
