The opinions on this topic run strong and deep. Everyone has their
facts, and they certainly don't all agree. I think the war in Iraq can
be argued much in the same way you could argue religion, with facts and
data to back any arguement. So for now I will say - thank God we are
here in the US, and thank God there are guys who are willing to defend
our rights to have this argument. God bless those whose lives are at
risk, and God save those who put innocent people in harms way for no
good reason.

And regarding the invasion of the US by the Europeans a few centuries
ago, I feel no pride about what we did to the good people of the land
here on this continent. They were people of the earth, and people of
nature, and they loved and cared for the land. In comparison, we have
been a plague on this continents soil. I'm grateful to be where I am
and who I am, but I'm not proud of how some things have been done
historically. I'm thinking the current time will be viewed similarly in
the future. I could be wrong.

Blessed be.

I know what I know, and you know what you know. I will agree to
disagree.

It is not about terrorist camps. There were no terrorist camps in Iraq
prior to the start of the war. That was proven. Sadam was not about to
allow anyone but his thugs to run things. GW stated for the record that
he was wrong for why he went, but it didn't matter because afterwards he
still had to deal with the problems that existed there. We were all
duped, and there was nothing he, or anyone could do once it got started.

And the comrad statement, how dumb. Like it is the 1960 and we are
dealing with Russia again.

Songbirrd said -> u have no faith.everything happens for a reason.God
will teach u one day

If you mean that "I" have no faith, you are very wrong. I have faith in
God. I am a very spirtual person. God and I are very much in communion
with each other. If you meant someone else in this thread you should
make clear to whom you are speaking.

Considering George's dad had it out for Sadam, oh so many years ago, and
he managed to sneak another attack in under everyone's nose, I guess
it's about damn time the kill the guy already. He was an evil dude to
be sure, so let them hang him.

Regarding George and his crimes ... too many people are behind the guy.
Too many years of holding up this stupid course of action. Too man dead
and being killed. We need to get out of there as soon as we can, and I
guess we can hope history can show him as the fraud he is - because the
current media and a good chunk of society still think he's some sort of
hero for what he's done.

I mean attacking Iraq to get terrorist made as much sense as attacking
Spain. We didn't we attack France. You know what brought terrorist to
Iraq. We did. Duh.

This is more of the kind of stuff you see in the media. Someone
blasting an opinion with no basis in fact, acting like they are the
final and only answer, and making fun of anything that is in line with
their possition. Just like that garbage, you can take it and make it
yours, or you can discard it as the bunch of empty bravado that it is.

Happy holidays and a happy new year.

I might be off base, but I think prayer in general (or what the Pagans
or Wiccan might call spells) is putting positive energy into the
universe for something that you care deeply about. I don't think it can
hurt, but it can't be sceintifically proven. If you have faith in your
beliefs, I think many things can happen that would seem unlikely without
your possive influances. Possitive energy, and thoughts are always a
good thing, and negative energy and concentrating on a bad outcome is
always a bad thing.

It is hard to get your head around this thought, but you in reality
control your world more than you think, with or without a god concept.
You decide yourself to feel bad when things are going wrong - no one
else does that to you. They might treat you poorly, but you are the one
who let them effect you that way. You decide yourself to worry about
what other's think. You decide let the past stop you from trying new
things.

This doesn't entirely address the prayer thing, but I think it does
relate.

I love "The Information" - I'm leaving the stickers alone, but my 9 year
old daughter is bugging me to let her have them. I thought of buying a
second copy just so I can keep the stickers protected! I'm a weird
vinyl and CD collector - I love weird stuff that will likely have value
later.

Anyway, the best thing I got was the new Beatles CD, Love. Very
interesting. I also got a cool leather pouch for when a go LARPing.

I am a practicing Taoist, and a fan of Buddhism. It should be mentioned
it is "yin yang" not "ying yang". Common misunderstanding. The world
can open up when you can become centered in your own self.

Currently I'm playing a new video game (actually I think it is about a
year or so old) - Need for Speed Most Wanted. It is a pretty cool game.

You interested me in researching this more. He was a Christian, sort
of, but he also did not, along with many of the Nazi party, appreciate
country and the party coming first. He tended to recognize the need for
religion in Germany, and that many of the people of Germany were
christians and he could use that as tools against the Jews. He also
modeled his own beliefs similar to Catholic, as it was his background
from childhood, and new it and its concepts well.

Truely he is not what anyone would call a Christian though, obviously.
Also, regarding Jesus being a Jew, this is an odd point to make - what
else could he be in those times. He couldn't have believed in himself
yet. There were not Christian yet, so he could not have been called
that in that time. In reality he was a Jew who became the founder of a
new religion, which really made him the first Jewish to Christain
convert. In that light, Hitler could admire Jesus. I know, that is a
stretch.

Not trying to jump on the let's dump on Will bandwagon, I do have to say
that I rarely read any of his lengthy posts. As on most boards I learn
who to pass over. I do have to say the post that have some obscure poem
followed by 20 bumps really is quite odd.

party_fag, that can't be right. I have to ask, what is number two then?

For me - maybe Fight Club or possibly Fargo. Hard to say, I like so
many movies. I'm a bit of Kubrick nut. Also Monty Python rocks.

Oh brother. Throw The Captain overboard. No, we will never think sex
with children is OK. Logic dictated that people get their heads out of
their morality and leave people alone to decide what they think is OK if
it hurts no one else. It never made sense to hate or fear gay people.
It will always make sense to protect children. Can you see that now.
Give a good reason why being gay is wrong - other than you think it is
wrong. A reason.

I don't know how anyone can say it is "wrong"?>? Wrong for you maybe,
but each person has their own thing - if no one is getting hurt your
concerns are silly. Pedophiles hurt kids, so that is wrong. Murder is
wrong. Beastiality is wrong because the animals can't say no. But
homosexuality is between to adults. If you don't want to participate,
no one will make you.

How can you say it is wrong?

XR750 or 1200. Now that is a hell of a bike from Harley. Mert Lawill
is making recreations of that old wonder.

I also love the 'ole girly bike - the tried and true Sportster.

Thanks Amy. That does make some sense. It does seem the saying falls
short of being specific enough - and we learn to take for granted what
it means. I have always understood what it meant, but when I disected
the words it seems weak. But if what you said is the intent, I can see
what is "meant".
