Why are members contacted so much by members from out of their range, from other states? Meeting them, much less having a relationship with them, is impossible unless you want a long distance relationship. Why doesn't the Match function allow for limiting such contacts instead of wasting our time?

Not a single soul has shown any interest, except for those out of state. One that did respond turned out to be a scam artist. I question how effective this site is, and wonder if I'm wasting my time.
