Blaze, I shave my head. Does that make me a skinhead? Your comment kind of sounds prejudicial and might have been better off being kept to yourself. I'm a big believer that when someone calls someone a name, or puts them into a category having no knowledge as to who they are, it says more about the person doing the name calling than the person at which the name is called.

Same sort of situation hpened to my now 14 year old daughter when she was 10..This boy had tormented 17 little girls at school.We tried to have him removed from the school district everything..Well i told devyn my daughter from now on he touches you or even tries to, knock him out, he wont do it again.... He did she pushed him down on the gravel and he got skinned up..The principal called me Devyn was in trouble...Well I made a point to let my kid know in front of the principal that she was NOT in trouble with me...She was crying and upset because she got in trouble and not the boy... The principal was shocked that I HAD told her to defend herself.. i went to the boys Mom that afternoon and told her in no uncertain terms that if her kid touched my daughter again i would be back to see HER, and she wasnt gonna like that visit.....it never happened again.... Your daughter had EVERY RIGHT to defend herself..period..Ill buy her the second icecream after Lily buys her one.... we have to teach our daughters that THAT kind of crap is NOT ok , otherwise they grow thinking that its ok for men to do this kind of thing... She wasn't defending herself, she was RETALIATING. He PINCHED her butt, not was PINCHING her butt. She abused her knowledge of a martial art, something reprehensable to ones honor. Which is what martial artists are supposed to live by. If she can't understand that she could have taken a life because of anger, she should not procede in her MMA class. What she almost did was murder, not invouluntary manslaughter. |

With power comes responsibility. She should not have gone for the throat unless she felt her LIFE was in danger. She needs to understand that, and if she can't maybe she doesn't belong in that class. True, everyone has a right to protect themself, but she wasn't protecting herself; she was retaliating. Not good.

I think it makes some men feel inferior. And if it makes them feel inferior then they probably are. The other way I think about it is that they may judge you as they do some of your peers that are not great officers. More people here about the bad encounters with police than about the good ones. But if they judge you by your career rather than your character they are not that great a person anyway.

I'm sorry that happened. I have been close to losing digits myself, but have been lucky. A drug that strong definetly shouldn't be mixed with alchohol. He should probably drink more water than normal while healing.

It's funny you mention this. I think it is that feeling that gets people into trouble with pandas sometimes. People expect them to be teddy bear-like and be able to pet and hug and whatnot. But as cute as pandas are they are still a vicious bear. Maybe it has been an evolutionary thing. Maybe they fed on people and the cuter pandas attracted more people. ?
