How Israel Kills Gaza's Most Vulnerable Populations - Dr Zach Foster
Last week, the Israeli army unleashed a combat dog on Muhammed Bhar, a Palestinian man with Down's Syndrome. Muhammed called out “habibi,” or “my dear,” as the dog bit into his arm and chest. Muhammed’s mother pleaded with the army that he was disabled and posed no threat, but to no avail. His family was then forced to stand by as he bled to death in the next room over. How could the Israeli military target a man so obviously innocent and defenseless he could barely utter a word in response? For the Israeli military, there are no innocents in Gaza, not 94-year old women, not infants on ventilators and not even men with Down's Syndrome who cannot even speak ill of dogs sent to slaughter them. https://palestine.beehiiv.com/p/israel-kills-gazas-vulnerable-populations?utm_source=palestine.beehiiv.com&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=how-israel-kills-gaza-s-most-vulnerable-populations |

An American doctor, who volunteered at a hospital in Gaza, said upon his return that what he saw in the war-torn Strip was “unspeakable” and that the Israeli army deliberately killed children with sniper fire. In an interview with CBS, orthopedic and hand surgeon Mark Perlmutter said that he had never seen children mutilated and injured in his life as he had seen in the Strip.
He added that the Israeli army deliberately sniped children, saying that they have evidence of the systematic targeting of children and the war crimes committed against them. https://www.palestinechronicle.com/never-seen-anything-like-this-american-doctor-details-gaza-horrors/ |

Some Jews Refuse to Be Conscripted into Israeli Army
The chief rabbi of Sephardic (Eastern) Jews, Yitzhak Yosef, has declared that the Haredi men will leave abroad if they are forcibly conscripted into the army. Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid has criticized the Orthodox Haredi sect, whose followers refuse to join the ranks of the Israeli army during its war in Gaza. He said that many of them do not work and will find it difficult to adapt to life outside Israel. This segment of Israeli society rejects conscription and secularism, which led some of them to take to the streets to declare that they would rather die than be conscripted into the Israeli army, according to the Times of Israel. The Haredi men differ from the religious Zionist groups. They are more committed to religious practices and moral principles outlined in the Torah and Talmud. Their number in Israel has reached 1.28 million, or 6.13% of the total population. Haredi Jews have traditionally been non-Zionist, and typically do not participate in national celebrations or events. This is because they disagree with Israel’s secular orientation, or because they believe that Jews should not have a sovereign state before the Messiah arrives. The vast majority of Haredi Jews have historically been exempt from serving in the Israeli military. The Haredi religious leadership strongly opposes the drafting of young men into the army, arguing that their religious studies are more important. This is due, according to The Times of Israel, to the fear that young men will lose their Orthodox identity during military service. https://edition.cnn.com/2024/07/01/middleeast/ultra-orthodox-in-israel-defy-orders-to-serve-in-military-mime-intl/index.html |

Outrage after 90 killed in designated ‘safe zone’ attack that Israel says targeted Hamas military leader. https://aje.io/szzewy No meaningful outside pressure/measure to have a chance of stopping the carnage, but just the ordinary ineffective verbal condemnation. From Episcopal Church News
An Israeli military judge has rejected an appeal to release Lian Nasser, a 23-year-old Palestinian Anglican woman who has been held without charge by Israel since her arrest in April. “We are deeply concerned about the manner in which Lian Nasser was taken, her ongoing detention and the wider system that has meant thousands of Palestinians are held for months,” the Action Alert said. Nasser’s mother, Lulu Nasser, said soldiers arrived at the family home at 4am on April 6 and threatened them with guns as they searched the house before taking her daughter into custody. Israel has given no reason for Nasser’s detention. She is being held in Damon Prison near Haifa. Nasser is a member of St Peter’s Anglican Church in the occupied West Bank city of Birzeit. No timetable has been set for charges, trial or release in her case. Nasser’s priest, the Rev. Fadi Diab, and her family have also been prevented from visiting her. Israel has arrested more than 9,700 Palestinians from the West Bank since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas. The Holy Land conflict was widely discussed at last month’s 81st General Conference in Louisville, Kentucky. At least 16 resolutions related to the conflict were proposed for consideration by bishops and deputies. One resolution (D075) adopted by the Assembly called for the immediate release of Nasser. The Executive Council also urged “an end to the continued detention of thousands of Palestinians without charge, highlighting in particular the case of Lian Nasser.” Archbishop Michael Curry and Anglican leaders worldwide condemned Israel’s forced closure of the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza, which is run by the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem. Curry, Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby and others reiterated the call for a ceasefire. The Office of Government Relations encourages bishops to contact the Biden administration to demand Nasser’s release, as well as the release of all “unjustly detained” Palestinians. |

Israel Threatens with Nuclear Bomb
Experts believe that Israel possesses nuclear weapons, although it has neither confirmed nor denied this. Amid the failure of the Israeli ground incursion into Gaza, Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu said that he supports bombing Gaza with a nuclear bomb, and that the killing of Israeli prisoners held by Hamas is part of the price of war. Israel may use an electromagnetic bomb against Iran The electromagnetic bomb, a new type of bomb, if it falls on Iranian nuclear facilities, disables infrastructure facilities and electronic devices. A British newspaper quoted a security expert as saying that Israel may use an electromagnetic bomb against Iran, if Tehran decides to strike strategic Israeli sites in response to the attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus. Israeli Knesset member and head of the "Israel Beitenu" party, Avigdor Lieberman, called for the use of non-conventional weapons against Iran, referring to nuclear weapons. Lieberman added, in an interview on Israel's Channel 12, that Israel must end the policy of ambiguity regarding its non-conventional capabilities, "We do not have time for conventional weapons. Israel has no choice but to confront Iran directly," he said. Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said that the Israeli Air Force does not have the military capability to penetrate deeply into Iranian hideouts. Israel can only strike roads or bridges, but it does not have the equipment and ammunition that would enable it to harm the Iranian nuclear program. Iran's position A commander in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard said that Iran may review its "nuclear doctrine" if Israel's threats against Iranian nuclear facilities continue. One expert interpreted this statement to mean that Iran "has come to possess nuclear weapons," which prompted it to threaten to use them, and it may soon announce this and include the nuclear option within its "military doctrine and defensive weapons" in order to "deter its enemies." The head of the Iranian Strategic Council for Foreign Relations confirmed that his country will support Hezbollah "by all means" if Israel launches a comprehensive war against it, noting that the expansion of the war is pushing countries, including Iran, to participate in it. |

"In early June, Al Jazeera aired a series of disturbing videos revealing what it described as “summary executions”: Israeli soldiers shooting dead several Palestinians walking near the coastal road in the Gaza Strip, on three separate occasions. In each case, the Palestinians appeared unarmed and did not pose any imminent threat to the soldiers.
The six sources — all except one of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity — recounted how Israeli soldiers routinely executed Palestinian civilians simply because they entered an area that the military defined as a “no-go zone.” The testimonies paint a picture of a landscape littered with civilian corpses, which are left to rot or be eaten by stray animals; the army only hides them from view ahead of the arrival of international aid convoys, so that “images of people in advanced stages of decay don’t come out.” Two of the soldiers also testified to a systematic policy of setting Palestinian homes on fire after occupying them." https://tinyurl.com/y27j2u2p |

Hezbollah bombed Israeli military headquarters ... LUNG1954: Where did you get this piece of news from? https://www.palestinechronicle.com/hezbollahs-response-rocket-barrage-targets-israel-following-commanders-assassination/ "LUNG1954", There's no mention of military headquarters in the webpage link, but only of two positions in the Israeli-annexed Syrian Golan Heights, and a base in northern Israel, with no proof of any direct hit of target. In response to the assassination of Mohammed Nehme in southern Lebanon, the third senior commander to be killed in the south since about 9 months ago, Hezbollah launched its operations since the morning targeting soldiers in Karblum. Hezbollah then announced that, it had bombed with more than 200 missiles of various types the headquarters of the newly established 91st Division in the Eilit barracks, the headquarters of the 7th Armored Brigade in the Katsafia barracks, the headquarters of the 7th Brigade’s armored battalion in the Gamla barracks, the headquarters of the 210th Division (Golan Division) in the Nafah base, and the headquarters of the 210th Division’s artillery regiment in the Jordan barracks. It was also confirmed that an Israeli soldier was killed when a military base in the Syrian Golan was targeted by a drone. https://www.alarabiya.net/arab-and-world/2024/07/04/%D8%AD%D8%B2%D8%A8-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%84%D9%87-%D9%8A%D8%B1%D8%AF-%D8%B9%D9%84%D9%89-%D8%A7%D8%BA%D8%AA%D9%8A%D8%A7%D9%84-%D9%82%D9%8A%D8%A7%D8%AF%D9%8A-200-%D8%B5%D8%A7%D8%B1%D9%88%D8%AE-%D8%B9%D9%84%D9%89-%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%A6%D9%8A%D9%84- |

The Israeli website "Mothers" published testimonies from mothers of Israeli soldiers fighting in Gaza, talking about the state of despair and the collapse of morale among the soldiers, and that Gaza has become a trap and a hell of death for them. One of the soldiers in the Israeli army's "Oketz" dog unit told his mother that his unit is collapsing after 31 dogs were killed in just one week, and that there will be no more dogs for operations soon.

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz says that 42 Israeli reservists signed a letter last month requesting to perform military service. Attention is drawn to the fact that among the signatories are 16 members of the Military Intelligence and 7 from the Home Front Command, while the others serve in infantry, engineering and tank units, while two of the signatories serve in the commando units and the "Lotar" unit, which is specialized in counter-terrorism. Among those who agreed to reveal their names is Vardi, commander of the Tank Corps. The Israeli government has approved the call-up of an additional 50,000 reserve soldiers. The Israeli army says that "the increase in the reserve quota from 300,000 to 350,000 is due to the prolongation of the operation in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip."
The Israeli newspaper "Jerusalem Post" spoke in a report on June 15 about the "post-traumatic stress disorder" that thousands of Israeli soldiers suffer from due to their participation in the war on the Gaza Strip. It quoted the Israeli organization "Nefgashim" (a movement working to provide comprehensive mental health support for reserve soldiers) as confirming that "thousands of soldiers in the Israeli army are returning from Gaza suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and more than 10,000 reserve soldiers have requested to receive mental health services." An investigation conducted by the Hebrew newspaper "Calcalist" revealed "severe discontent" among reserve soldiers in the Israeli army due to the long period of service. More than 10 officers and soldiers of the occupation have committed suicide since the beginning of the war in Gaza. The soldier, Eliran Mizrahi, a father of four children, committed suicide. Mizrahi worked in Gaza as an Israeli bulldozer driver for 78 days. |
