somewhere under yonder star
not sure how close, but far too far
you lay your head on a pillow soft
and allow yourself to drift off

"sweet dreams," i whisper in a voice so low
you can't hear me but i hope you know
that somewhere tonight under that same star
i'm wishing that you weren't so far.

Hey all :) I'm working on publishing my own book on brokenness and how God restores us, and i was just wondering if there's anyone else out there who's written a book (or is working on one) :) i thought maybe we could talk about it if so :) bounce ideas off each other, maybe? let me know!

infatuation
exhilaration
intoxication
she brings me
despite miles between us
our hearts tug at us
calling after us
modern day shakespeare
two lovers and a balcony
so cliche
yet so real

he'll be the popular kid who's got no friends
i said it once, and i'll say it again
the popular kid who's got no friends
who never wanted to be... this popular

always surrounded by a crowd
you'd think that nothing would bring him down
their lips move but they make no sound
when they talk to him

he gets a smile from everyone
you'd swear on the outside that he's having fun
but he's looking down a lonely gun
each night when he sleeps

his mother thinks that he needs some help
popularity has hurt his health
he can't even seem to love himself
though everyone else does

still he smiles and waves just the same
and i'm jealous that everyone knows his name
what i wouldn't pay to have his fame
and be popular

here's a little piece i wrote last year, dealing with the hurt that comes with realizing that someone will never be your girl. :) i hope you enjoy :)

-------

hey there hippie girl
i really liked your style
you really drove me wild
but i never had the balls to say
that i wanted you to be... my girl

hey there christian girl
you wore a purity ring
and in the church choir did you sing
but in your parents basement...
........
but you're never gonna be... my girl

hey there artistic girl
i really liked your class
and the way you shook your ***, when we danced
but you married some guy named steve
and now you're never gonna be... my girl

hey there cheerleader girl
you were really smoking hot
and that's the only way you got...
me to swing...
and i even bought you a damned diamond ring...
but you decided that you should cheat
and so you're never gonna be... my girl

hey there new girl
i met you on eharmony
so you may not even be who i think you to be
and you're really really sweet
but we're never gonna meet...
cause you're a tease... my girl

it's not an idol if you dont worship it... there's no sin in using things to remind us of the one who did die for us... just because Constantine misused the cross doesn't mean we should throw it out an ignore it... lots of facts, but nothing really showing we shouldn't wear the cross to me...

my thought is that you're right noone wears other death-sentence symbols... but the cross is not only a symbol of violent death, but magnificent grace! the cross doesn't say "i'm perfect" it says "i need something more"... it's a beautiful thing... and no matter how decorated it is, it can continuously remind us of the horrific death Christ suffered for us, and the grace we were given from that death. :) just my humble opinion :)

it amazes me how we share such similar memories with those we love... it shows me that there are so many similarities between humans, yet we're so different. i'm glad you got the chance to reflect on your grandma, and that by doing so, you reminded us all to cherish our loved ones.

i definitely enjoy watching tennis in general as its a very exciting sport (this is evidenced by my watching mens tennis frequently as well) but i will admit i am much more likely to keep a tennis game on if the scoring gets a bit out of hand, but there's a cute russian blonde wearing a tight outfit on the tv :-p

ode to the sun god
you wake shortly after you hit your highest peak
you sneak in and steal the sleep from wide awake souls
my soul is yours and i desire your sweet rest
amidst the busy work day, i find myself daydreaming of you
and you're so bad for me...

ode to the moon god
you wait until the clock strikes midnight
you slither in and awaken the deepest unspoken desires of my soul
my soul is yours and i desire your sweet comfort
amidst the silent night, i find myself longing for you
and you're so bad for me...

i'm new to these message boards... happy and i'd love to hear feedback

My grandpa just had surgery to remove cancer, and this poem is a constant reminder to us... our family prayed over him, and our pastors visited, and it was just such a blessing to remember the presence of the Lord among us as we prayed... i love this poem :)
