It's late and I'm probably the only one here, so I'll talk to myself. grumble I wondered why there were so few men here in this age group.......but I didn't wonder long. Ever notice how many men 50 and over advertise for women at least 10 yrs or more younger than they are? And a lot of them look 10 yrs older than they are! noway When I see that, I ignore them if they do contact me. And then there's the guys who are young enough to be my son, saying age doesn't matter.noway Does to me! I enjoy having men for friends. Wish there were more. ohwell Probably too busy chasing after those young girls. laugh

Being that I'm a man and don't read men's profiles so I never noticed that.

However, since I do read a lot of women's profiles I can only tell you that I see exactly the same thing from my perspective.

So my guess is that it must be a human thing rather than a gender thing. bigsmile

And yes, I've been hit on by girls in the mid to late 20's too. They must be looking for a Sugar Daddy or something, but I'm definitely not him! noway

I certainly wouldn't rule out a woman who is 10 or even 15 years younger than me. But I don't think in terms of numbers anyway. Compatiblity and mutual attraction is all I care about. flowerforyou

I think a lot of men are realizing they are middle-aged and want to hang onto their youth as long as possible. Dating a younger woman makes them feel younger, and arm candy isn't bad, either.laugh
Women our age are starting to loose a lot of our looks to the gravity issue: wrinkles, greying hair, a few extra pounds, etc.
We are the still the youthful, loving, affectionate people we always were but those traits seem to be overlooked a lot.
Personally, I tend to go for the contents, not the cover.
Any of you men agree with me?

Here we go, lumping all older men together.
BS, some guys want arm candy, sure why not.
I was married to a lady 9 yrs older then I, have dated ladies older than that. Age is not a factor for me, personality & how a lady presents herself, are my guidlines. Maybe there is something about how you treat the men contacting you. Why not look for friends frst & then see where it goes. That is what I do here.

I agree with you 100% Sage. You can't generalize. I have dated and/or married older, younger, and about the same age. They were all different and all wonderful in their own way.

I think I've posted about this before. I'm in a tough category, I'll be 52 this Sunday, but I don't LOOK 52. The guys who're in the right age bracket won't ask me out because they think I'm too YOUNG for them, and the guys who're WAY too young keep asking me out and I turn them down because age IS more than a number, it's about frame of reference.

I accepted a date with a much younger man, while we were driving he was messing with the radio and asked me if I liked smashing pumpkins - I said "I guess if I were really, really, angry it'd be ok." Then he told me Smashing Pumpkins was a BAND. That's when I realized younger men were not for me, LOL!

Oldsage,
I honestly did not mean to offend anybody, and I did not lump all men together. I believe I said," A LOT OF MEN."
As far as how I treat men on here, how would you know? I talk to everyone who e-mails me and I have met a lot of wonderful people on here that are thoughtful and respectful, that I consider to be my friends. I treat others as I am treated.
As for friends first, read my profile and I believe you will see that I stated that there as well.
Have a blessed day!

Leaplady, was addressing comments more to the first poster. I meant no offense to anyone either. Just was offering my personal thougts on how?what she said affected me. Totally agree with you; leaplady; as I would never attack anyone.

I've set my age limits to what I believe is reasonable, due to my experiences. I know what my comfort zone is with age, if I had to live with a man, I would not be in fear of feeling too old or too young.

I don't believe that everybody takes the age thing seriously enough. Beware of what you ask for!

I have no sugar
I’m really not sweet
I’m as sour as the buttermilk
from a pygmy goat’s teat

I have no money
I’m really quite poor
I’ll have to be happy
with a bag lady whore

I live in a kitchen
with some soup and a ladle
I’m in no position
to be rob’n the cradle

Oh, by the way … Happy Birthday! drinker bigsmile

i am age 52. like to visit, and just get to know someone first.(I have noticed a few have told me, "enough of the chit chat, lets talk sleeping together.") i guess i am still old fashioned--i want to court a women first for a while. then take things kind of slow, and enjoy life.--of course that is just me though.

I have to agree with angelinboots. It seems a lot of men(no offense guys!) are looking for much younger women. They are passing up mature, loving, experienced women for eye candy! Such a shame ohwell

I don't think men are any different than women..if your TV goes bad you don't go to the store to get an older model bigsmile

I think distance is the greatest obstacle to all dating sites. In your own area you are well known & that makes finding new people hard. I feel VERY sure there are lots of nice ladies & men out there, problem is getting them in the same town; let alone getting them to meet.
