What population isn't divided? Canada is so diverse that it's hard to say you're a majority. I think we're nearly all 'minority' here. But differences between people will, in the end, create harmony. In my opinion.

What a cute little dog, I have a ferret, not a dog, but I'm sure that your puppy is just as fantastic a pet. flowerforyou

See, it worked already!
Besides, we have so many things in common.
We both breath air, need to eat certain things, lots and lots of the same stuff can hurt us and have you ever walked into a room and forgotten why you went in there in the first place.

Diversity is a double edged sword, it can make you a strong nation, or it can be used to keep ignorant ill informed populations bickering amongst themselves while power elites run off with all the money, power and property.

Yes but educated and thoughtful people all realize that jusr because someone has a different colour/race/accent/religion does not mean that they haven't got the same rights as everyone else. There will always be ignorant and backward people (you should meet my mother  ) But it's up to those of us who aren't to stand up for what we believe in and try not to create anarchy and chaos.

Yea he's a little monster. Has me up til 3am every day. SO if I don't make sense or am ranting or making spelling mistakes I balme Remus lol. What's the ferret's name? I think they're cute lol.

Fascism under the guise of Nationalism requires and thrives within a deeply divided population.

Hmmm... a deeply divided population. Race, sex, sexual preference, religion, political brainwashing, abortion rights...

or something as simple as; "if you're not with us, you're against us..."

Gonzo! That's cute. Can you train ferrets?

It's cuz I'm random and tend to jump from one thought to the next quickly. Blame me flowerforyou

okay, it's all your fault.

Ferrets are wildly intelligent, and can be trained to do everything a cat does, as far as litter training and dinner times are concered, but they can go a step further.
Ferrets can be trained as attack animals, guard animals all sorts of things.

Plus, they always reminded me of a rat that swallowed a rubber hot dog!

I'm interested in knowing what others think, so without futher ado.
After reading the 14 indicators of facsism, can anyone point out what the examples of them in our current society are?

QUOTE--->
1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism -
Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

I don't know if anyones noticed but the amount of "Join the Army/Navy/Air Force/Marines" commercials has more than outdone themselves over the past 6 years. Also, any movie made nowadays is full of the American flag, and the fight against Terrorists. (Anyone seen Spiderman 3? Not only was that the ****tiest Marvle movie but that billowing American flag while he's on the way to save everyone? Please.) If that's not propaganda I don't know what is.

3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats
as a Unifying Cause -
The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.

Ok so look at the 2nd last word. Terrorists. I think people sometimes aren't sure what a terrorist is. No, a terrorist is not defined as a Muslim, or anyone of brownish colouring. No it's not someone from Iraq, Iran, Pakistan or where ever. In fact the Internationsl convention on Terrorism (a UN operation) has about 109 definitions of 'terrorist'. Not one is including any of the things I mentioned.

Hmm, now I kinda feel like a jerk for picking on Americans. But to be fair...it's easiest. I could go after Zimbabwe but their president should be tried but the International Court as a War Criminal. He shouldn't be getting away with what he's done to his people.
