"That's why it's time to consider a more serious option: invading Burma. Some observers, including former USAID director Andrew Natsios, have called on the U.S. to unilaterally begin air drops to the Burmese people regardless of what the junta says. The Bush Administration has so far rejected the idea - "I can't imagine us going in without the permission of the Myanmar government," Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Thursday"

This excerpt from TIME magazine. The news media is starting a drumbeat for us to invade another acountry, possibly? WTF, after all the hoopla going on about the Iraq war? Would the liberals please explain this suggestion by a major magazine?

We may try food drops...but our military will never invade Burma. We got out of the slave industry along time ago, which is all Burma has...poverty and slavery. Also burma does not pose any threat to its neighbors and are not a destablizing threat for the region. Unfortuately there are so many places like this... Congo, Sudan, Etheopia, Chad etc etc that are run by brutal dictators or military juntas that we can't possibly help them all unless there is a real global effort to crush these regimes.

I take it from no comments that no one else has any clue what to comment either. Like me, too shocked to even formulate any thoughts at all.noway

This is pretty consistent for the mainstream media....

They love it when they turn the military into a "meals on wheels" program. They refer to them as "Humanitarian Missions".

As long as it's thier idea, kill or overthrow whoever gets in the way.

Remember Samolia, Bosnia, etc...

that is quite true, when I ponder the thought. But, can you imagine the uproar they would have if a few c-130's got shot down? Then they would be screaming that it was all Bush's fault and would promptly mount the soapbox of righteous indignation. two faced buzzards:angry:

Again, I'll go back to Bosnia...

Clinton was so afraid of another plane being shot down - we lost a F-15 & a F-117 - that no flights were to go under 35,000 ft. This lead to a lot of civilian deaths - but because it was Clinton, did you hear much about it??
