Is it just me, or are you getting phone calls from people in India
badgering you about refinancing your home mortgage too??? These bozos
are calling me nightly and badgering me about refinancing, I try to be
polite, and tell them no firmly, not interested, not interested, no,
over and over, finally have to end up hanging up on them. What is this
garbage?? How do you make them stop. I don't have caller ID (sorry,
cheap phone) and dang, they actually beg you to listen to them, have
quotas to meet, etc. Is there a way to block their calls??

When they ask for "so and so", tell them in a serious tone that the
person has died, and that this is a really bad time to be calling,
further, since the person is deceased, there's no reason to call back.

I do that all the time. Occasionally, the telemarketer will update their
files, but, not often enough.

Already tried that, they just started badgering me about it. I think
there is a number you can use on your phone to block them through
question, something like *86 or something, need to call tomorrow to find
out. It is really ugly, they are really pushy and obnoxious. Thanks for
the info though. Told them dad was in the nursing home, so they started
in on me.

you tell them the person has died and you are investigating the crime
and that THEY are now a suspect in the murder and ask them how YOU can
contact THEM!!!

Thanks Sage will do that, and Purple love that idea. Thanks for the
input. Anything to get them to leave me alone, have tried polite, and
even hanging up.

Darn, wish I was more creative. I worked in the prison system for 17
years, think I could come up with something more creative. I love your
idea though, wonder if the one you put in the panic quit the business
and went into a new line of work???

tell them that you will file a lawsuit against them personally if they
dont stop calling you. (this actually works) i've used this. because if
u tell them not to call u and they keep doing it that is harrasment and
u can file suit.

lol, yeah file suit against a company in India, it's hard if not
impossible to do internationally, many companies are now using call
centers from India, cheaper wages and it has been discovered that they
sell and misuse your personal information as well, hmmmm, imagine that.

Start jerking them around. Ask them what their name is, then ask them to
spell it, then ask what company they represent, then ask them to spell
it. Every time they get into their speel do the same thing over again.
I once had one of them spell his name and the name of his company 9
times before he finally figured out I was messing with his head and hung
up.

Thanks for the input folks, sure am sick of these guys. Bad enough that
Dell and all the computer companies have moved their marketing and
supply ordering services to India now too, drives me nuts to have to
deal with barely English speaking people when I am trying to get
something fixed or order supplies for the computer.

Thanks Bill, I already know that, they are just calling me all the time,
have been hanging up on them and they even call back. Looking for some
way to get rid of them., May have to try Purple's police idea. Sick of
their pushiness. Would never do business wtih another country, you're
right, would likely lose the house in a heartbeat due to some "fine
print" unknown law.

Ha ha. The mortgage company only pays them like 2 dollars a day, so
they won't stop. The telemarketer can feed their entire family on that,
so they won't stop either. Before this, they were probably staving.
Never looked at it that way before, I expect
