i don't get it...from my last post it appeared that there is no requirement for how smart you have to be to be religious. how young is too young to be able to understand what God really is?

I think understanding God comes at a different age for everyone. I didn't understand until I was 18, but my brother understands and knows more than 98% of people when he was 10. I think it's a human attribute to place a number on something like this when there probably shouldn't be one.

Actually most major religions, Christian, Islam, about age 7, is called the "age of reason" where most children either get confirmed as in Christianity or as in Islam it is a special event.

i understood God since I was very young, my knowledge of Him has grown as I grew, and it keeps growing. It will never end.

Age is meaningless in terms of religion. You have a belief or you don't. It can't be dictated, since each person is different. There is no level of intelligence any person can reach that can cause or prevent belief in a religion. There is no age at which one can truly comprehend and understand what God really is, as you put it, because God is a being beyond our own limits.
So my answer is you have to be old enough to be dead to truly understand what God is. Anything else is too young.

I don't believe any of us will ever understand what God really is while we are alive.

So we will always be too young.

John 9:41
Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.

only children truly understand god, then religion gets in the way and messes it all up for everyone.
