Topic: Do you think Opra Winfrey is dangerous?

In another thread it was noted that Opra has changed the way she referrs to God on her show or in public appearences.
Though I really don't remember her promoting Jesus and the Bible, some think that over the years she has left Jesus and the Bible out of it, for the sake of appeasing a less Christian following. Succumbing to the hand of Greed that Satan held out.

What do you think of any major celebrity or politician being vocal about their religious views? Do you think it is dangerous?

What if the view promotes a belief in God but there is disodence between the belief and what the person promotes publicly. Like body immage, fashion, support of the GLBT?

Is that dangerous?

No I do not consider it "dangerous", she is keeping her religion be it whatever it is, to herself. Nothing wrong with that. I don't think public figures have to cater to the religious or the non religious. Keeping it private is a good move as far as I can see.

Political leaders really need to keep it to themselves because religion has no place in the government.

So far Mirror wins the funniest 'most REDYKEULOUS' post so far.

I totally agree with Dragoness about politicians. There is no place for religion in the ethics of politics, with one singe exeption. To maintian and uphold the Constitution, to allow freedom of & freedom from - personal religious beliefs.

The rest: celebrities, it's their paycheck, let those who offer the highest amount rule their tongue. Funny I don't see a whole lot of loose lips among the celebrity. OH WAIT, darn Melissa Etheridge and her partner Tammy are very Christian. Dam nation, my own people!!!!!! laugh

I think people for get that celebrities are humans also and have the right to speak out on any issue and the right to privacy.I also think celebrities forget that there are people who look up to them ,some who are unbalanced, and they should chose their words carefully.
I think Oprah despite all her billions is a lonely woman who is seeking solace and acceptance and has found out it really is lonely at the top.

("Are you ready to be awakened?") speaks for itself. She was "able to open her mind," stop "putting God in a box," and realize that there are a vast number of "paths" to "that which we call God." It turns out that God is not Someone (or even something) we are to believe in but rather something we "feel."

^^^^^^This is Oprah;^^^^^^

We have not even to risk the adventure alone, for the heroes of all time have gone before us.
The labyrinth is thoroughly known. We have only to follow the thread of the hero path, and where we had thought to find an abomination, we shall find a god.
And where we had thought to slay another, we shall slay ourselves.
Where we had thought to travel outward, we will come to the center of our own existence.
And where we had thought to be alone, we will be with all the world....

noway noway noway OH MY GOSH!!!!Oprah is....A.B.R.A.!!!laugh laugh

Oprah said that she believes that there is more than one path to 'God'???

I would completely concur with that statement...

Scientology seems a little far-fetched at first glance...

Is Oprah dangerous???

Um... if there is any inherent danger within our entertainment industry it is in it's viewers' conditioned minds...

Intentionally so...

The increasing power of the industry could become problematic when it involves the leap of an industry icon to a governmental position of power.

Then again, when was the last time that we had an elected official that truly wanted to help the people who have been less fortunate, that truly had a good enough mental grasp regarding where and how to measure the success of this country?

So then, the comparison perhaps is merely a matter of experience vs. true intent...

I would choose true intent, but one cannot do much alone in the system. Therefore, the corruptable will be corrupted. The incorruptible will have few, if any friends within the existing system, therefore would never be able to move past the initial phases, unless.... they had enough money of their own to purchase a winning campaign.

Oprah for president!!!

Now why would you describe her belief as "occultic?" (Which by the way is not even a real word.)

Nobody complained about her when when she claimed to be a Christian.

This is typical of Christians to assume that they are right and everybody else is wrong or "dangerous."

The only "damage" she is doing is to Christianity, which is an unprovable illogical superstitious cult in its own right.

Christianity only pretends to tolerate other belief systems. They only pretend to understand that people are allowed to live and believe the way they choose. They only pretend they believe in FREEDOM OF RELIGION.

But when someone looks like they might actually make a dent in the numbers of their churches, their religion, they call it "dangerous."

Get used to it. Enlightenment is on the rise. The truth will be known. ... and it isn't Christianity.

Two things about Oprah....she was a Christian and she used to speak her mind.....regarding her faith...but then the all mighty buck came into the picture...and because of what she believed in was loosing her viewers she then started skipping on the fence so to speak...hence the no specific God. Now what hurts me the most about what she has done is two things....I have met her, I have talked to her...I did a 10k run with her in Los Angeles. When she got all wishy washy on her beliefs because it was bad for ratings. This was a slap in God's face. I stand behind my convictions 100%. I have seen what she has done over the last 15 years and what scares me the most about it is the following she has. Satan to me has his hands in this big time...And what better way...the people adore her, almost worship her.....so satan can get how many many many more people through her......

Be careful folks what you buy into......

Disclaimer: This is my opinion and nothing being shoved at anyone.....I speak from what I know. Get all the shows and watch...watch the slow progression to what she thinks today.....Please don't take my word for it...look for yourselves.

Granted, not all Christians are going to attack Oprah. Many will join her.

If it looks like I lumped all Christians together in my post I apologize.

Many Christian leaders will probably voice the opinion that Oprah is somehow dangerous to Christianity. But not all of them.

I will rephrase that it is a typical reaction.... for some, not all Christians.

you don't want me calling all of the people who follow your faith satanic ritualists with dangerous tendancies do you?

Why would you? smokin

ohwell I don't know what "faith" you are referring to. Do you?

I have no people following me. laugh laugh laugh

What "faith" are you talking about?

My personal beliefs are mine, I only have one member in my "Church". ... Me.
