This was on my mind about three months ago and started to post; but didn't. I was watching an Oprah show today that was an encore production of a previous show.
I have never bought a dog from a pet shop, that being said. It is a horrible existance for the breeding dogs that have puppies bought from them by a pet shop for sale. I can not believe the conditions and the way that they are never given human attention. Breast cancer is big in thse places. The tumors are horrible. They never walk on a solid surface. Where they live is a small box like cage that they can barely turn around in. Usually two or three dogs to a cage. I just saw where the Governor of Pennsylvania wrote her to ask her viewers to write their legislators and such to protest the laws as they stand. He is proposing a new bill to legislate stronger more humane laws to give these dogs a chance at somewhat of a normal life. On her web site is a link to your own state to make sure it isn't happening there. Thanks for reading. Kat I am for one going to help the dogs. It is horrible. Write if you care. |

The largest puppy mills in the U.S. is in Pennsylvania. Run by the Amish, they see them as an income, not something to care about. They are a commodity to them. Like chickens and cows and such.

Kat never thought i would be pissed at the amish...hmm They don't actually think they are wrong. No feelings involved. Just income. They see them as what they think God told them...that they have dominion over animals. Well, yeah...to keep them and take care that they exist safe. To speak easy to them. Kat |

I'm not down on the ammish, they simply do not see what they are doing as wrong. Some of these puppy mills have as many as 1000 dogs breeding. When they are no good to them....they shoot them.
They never have medical care or baths or medicines. They never know more than a small cage all of their lives. Poor dogs.... Kat |

there is gonna be a special brand of hell for puppy mill owners.... Yep... I cannot even go in those places, it breaks my heart. I can't even imagine 'paying' for an animal...there are two many abandoned, rescue groups, strays that need a loving home. That's how I have been found by all of mine. ![]() |
