I truly wanted clarification that I did not receive... 
Poetry is beautiful, well some is, and it's a taste thing, Poets like Langston Hughes say more in 3 lines than some people can say in a whole novel, love doesn't make it more or less beautiful I don't think. If we assume that all poetry is about romantic love, only the writer and the recipient can truly enjoy it to the depths it was written, I prefer to look at all works of art (poetry included) from an open perspective, and not from a mushy gushy lovey dovey over sensitive perspective. People think romantic love is the end all be all, and i just don't see it that way, I love my daughter more than anything in this world, I love my friends and family and most of all I love myself. I don't need anyone to complete me. Yes, there are 2 people in this world that I am romantically attracted to, but I do have them in my life, so why would I be upset or angry over that? Just because I'm not having sex with them? It's such a small minut part of love... So does love make peotry better...NO.. does poetry make love better ...NO. Love makes love better, and Passion makes poetry better. |
