Man arrested for Moon Pie attack

GALESBURG, Ill., May 27 (UPI) -- Police in Galesburg, Ill., said they have arrested a homeless man who allegedly attacked an 84-year-old man with a box of Moon Pies.

The alleged victim told police he was standing in front of Michael Farquer, 53, while waiting in line at a Dollar General store, The Register-Mail newspaper in Galesburg reported Tuesday.

He said he was leaving the store when Farquer struck him several times in the back with a yellow Dollar General bag that contained an item. Police told the newspaper the bag contained a box of Moon Pies.

Farquer was arrested on suspicion of battery. He was being held at the Knox County Jail, The Register-Mail said.
