Just found out on the news that we had an earthquake at 10:03 tonight, was only 3 on the Richter scale (probably why I had to find out on the news).

I didn't notice anything, but apparently some people in the Seattle area did.

We used to get one a year in Utah, so small that you really couldn't tell unless you were sitting still or laying down.

I miss earthquakes. I lived in California for about three years and experience them there. One woke me up from my sleep. Pretty rocky too.

there was one yestarday(or was it the day before yestarday) the earthquake was a 5.4,but it was a couple of minutes long,scary

I cant friggin believe that I slept right through the one yesterday. I just moved to Cali and I slept right through my first earthquake!

We had the Nisqually quake in the late 90s or early 2000s, and it was bigger, did some damage to buildings, etc. Nisqually is right outside Olympia, WA. I lived in Spokane at the time and felt it there.

I read that they have discovered a new plate running through this area. I know this was nothing like the San Diego one, and this one was centered out in the Straits.

we had one back in like april around here... barely anyone felt it but i did and i ended up on the news talking about it

Wow. The Midwest a few months ago, California a few days ago and now Washington.

St. Louis has the New Madrid fault looming over us. Brick homes can't get earthquake insurance anymore because they say we're supposed to be getting the "big one" anytime.

scientist also say that a tsunami will hit the US for sure,but they dont know when,they showed this whole thing on the discovery channel

i was in my work uniform and it was 6 am.... not at my best at all... they should have warned me the da*ned thing was coming first!!!

the one i felt here in the cincinnati originated in like evansville indiana or something which is hours away.... i barely felt it... my bed shook some... i honestly thought it was the washer in the next room with a load off balance and when i woke my sister up and told her i thought we had an earthquake she said i was on crack... then i heard it on the radio and it wowed me.. that doesnt happen in ohio.. they said it had been 20 years since the last one

Sure a 3 counts, for our big "metropolis" of about 7,000 people. We do live right on the water too, so if a Tsunami were to occur, I could be in deep trouble, I live about 1-1/2 miles from the water and am on the flats. Don't think it was big enough to warrant any problems though.

Ok. I was just checking. A friend of mine told me that it doesn't count until it hits at least a 4. lol

scientist say that the tsunami will destroy half of the US...so i run from the ocean if i were you

That is one huge Tsunami, to take out half the U.S. Wonder if they meant California as they get so many more quakes than the rest of us.

Sorry Wolfie, didn't mean to give you nightmares. I was just remembering how they have talked for years about California breaking off and falling into the ocean from all the quakes. I know, just a bunch of talk.

Heck, we had Mount St. Helens blow back in 1980, and we survived. They are threatening that Rainier has been making rumblings, but who knows. All the scientists have different theories. They are also predicting St. Helens will blow again, has been having quakes and building up a lava dome for months and months now. Who knows if it will ever happen.
