I met my ex on another dating website (mate1.com) and we had a good run.
It's just that we both want different things in life that just clash.
With this site being so open and free, I think there's a better chance
than other sites. I've already met a few nice people with just the few
days I've been on here. Great place!

The people here are definitely nicer than the ones on any of the other
52,311 sites I've tried.

I haven't met anyone from this site yet, but I have met nine people from
various other sites. The only good one came from FriendFinder, go
figure....

The problem I had with mate1.com was that it was free for women, but men
had to pay. So, you had a whole bunch of women on there and hardly any
men. That's how my ex and I found each other, though.

people who have met a long term companion online... for some it's going
really well... for others not so much... but isn't that true of all
relationships, no matter how you met?

I see a sort of trade-off -- you have access to lots of people you would
never have known were it not for dating sites, but so many (if not all)
of the good ones live 897,000 miles away.

I do think it's possible to find a really good one nearby, but I think
there are way too many variables to establish any sort of concrete
percentages for any one person or potential relationship. Every case
writes its own rules, in the end.

But the best gf I ever had was someone I met from a dating site, and she
lived 20 minutes away. So anything is possible....

It's possible, but not probable to meet someone on these sites. I've
met some ppl local to the chicago area. Most are to young or to old.


I would date someone in thier mid to late twenties up to about 45 yrs
old if there was a connection and they lived within a couple hour drive.
That narrows the search to about 3 ppl that are active on here.

I don't know. I think you just have to keep an open mind. I've made some really wonderful friends from online sites. I've dated some guys from online sites. My current guy is from MySpace of all places. I think the important thing, as others have said, is to be true to yourself but also keep an open mind.

Whatever it is you desire in life, make it a goal. Work towards it. It'll happen.

In the meanwhile... there are loads of amazing people here. Just have fun!
