I would say everyone at JSH has watched their share of TV and movies,
and have been told the love at first sight, happy ever after fairy
tales.

How many of you believe that you will feel some kind of instant
connection or feel/see some kind of sign when meeting that person we all
hope to be with us for the rest of our lives?

I believed most of my life that this was all BS, fairytale propaganda
and I hated the lies. I've changed my mind and I want to believe it and
I was just wondering how everyone else sees this wonder?

I believe there can be an instant connection when your eyes meet. But
love at first sight is untrue, lust maybe but not love. Love takes time
to grow as you get to know the person.

True love. That's an interesting choice of words. If there is such a
thing as true love, why do people break up when things get tough? True
love is togetherness through thick and thin; just like marriage it's
suppose to be for better or worse no matter what. I'm not talking about
physical abuse either. Abuse is for those who want to control you not
love you, support your ambitions or find the time to Just Say Hi !

cl - that was another thing I wondered. If one believes they had found
their "soul mate" and life for one of them ends. Can we indeed be
blessed enought to find another great love?

I would like to think that the heart and the mind can find another that
would make investing our time and our experiences with possible.

I fear sometimes that some poeple just give up, or even that they have
some betrayal issues. As if in some afterlive, they may be forced to
choose between the two loves they had in this life. I think sometimes
we need to stop thinking and let the heart have it's way.

I so totally fell for "Love at first sight". Then was kicked between the
eyes.

I so totally beleived in a "soulmate" until my soul was roasted in hell
for what seemed like an eternity.

Lets see....whats left.... could try falling for "big boobs, big bucks,
no brains"?

...ok that wasnt a very nice post of me. Seriously, I beleive that "love
at first sight" could possibly happen. I dont think "sight" really is
the word, "love at first laugh" is more appropriate.

I am so wanting to meet a 'soulmate'.

Despite the 38 years of contrary history, i beleive in both. I bet my
life on it.

Even goin thru a particularily nasty divorce. I still
believe...someday, someway, somewhere, BAM that will be it.
I have felt the "electricity" and the "sparks". It is a great feeling.
Only happened once, he ended up my very best friend.
Not a lover. A honest to God, best friend.

LOving & being in love are two totally different things. I think love at
first sight is possible, but being in love has to grow, be nurtured and
earned trust. Just think, "Can I imagine myself holding hands with this
person at age 80 or older?" Will you or she be the last person you see
before you close your eyes for eternal sleep?
