I can't ever seem to receive them. I looked in settings, account profile, etc.
I don't think I did anything to stop instant messages.????

when some "so and so" is trying to send you a message, do you accept it? If you aren't looking for it or expecting it then you won't see it most likely until you click something or somewhere else.this causes that little window to go away and most people don't see it or miss it. On the other hand if you do see it and are expecting it and you click on it to accept it and it still doesn't come up....then check your latest versions of Flash and java and make sure they are up to date. This site uses a version of Userplane messenger.Go to Userplane.com for more technical info. Hope this helped

Thanks for info.

I checked the space where it says, do you want to turn off IM....and I didn't. I have received other IM's but possibly not on this forum.

IM aren't necessary to me anyway. Its just a bit irritating that it says it's trying to connect over and over.

Not sure why it's repeatedly indicating that it's trying to connect over and over, polypeasant.

Perhaps you could make sure that your machine has the latest versions of the software that IamMewhoRU pointed out. If it's not that, then perhaps it's a security setting on your end.

The following will most likely resolve any problems on your end.

1st, if the window opens, it is not likely that a pop up blocker is causing the problem. You can reduce your firewall settings to medium, but i doubt thats the problem.

Most likely your version of java is in need of an update, there are a lot of free downloads available, just google "update Java"

As with any website, anytime an application is not working correctly, the first and easiest thing to do is clear cache and cookies. People should do this regularly. I would recommend trying that first, and then update Java.

Hope that helps,
Mark
